Thank you for featuring this deck on the front page!

Hi Guys, I am waspeon, a hearthstone addict. I want so share a unique deck that I hit legend with in season 16. If you are sick of all the usual decks, try out this one, it contains some minions that are not often played! The theme is silence. With 3 silencer and Wailing Soul, you can have some very cool combos!

I use this deck only for the whole season and nothing else, alone the way the deck evolved and this is the final result.

UPDATE march 2016:

-1 Fan of Knives -1 [card]Azure Drake[/card]

+2 Eerie Statue

UPDATE:

-1 Zombie Chow   -1 Ogre Ninja  + 1 Loatheb  + 1  [card]Kezan Mystic[/card]

With tgt out, this deck is less value because there are many new good cards. I reached legend with below 60% win rate. The win rate is better against hunter now because there are more mid range hunters. While the new yeti druid just crush this deck, bad news as druid was one of the best match up. Ironbeak Owl has become very valuable and I keep it in opening hand against hunter, priest, warlock and shaman.

Sadly there aren't better ogre/watcher cards introduced!

Mulligan:

Usually you are looking for Zombie Chow and Ancient Watcher, if you have coin can keep 1 Ogre Brute and 1 SI:7 Agent

Against aggro such as hunter and shaman,  keep Backstab and Zombie Chow, if you have coin, keep SI:7 Agent. Against hunter, If you have Zombie Chow or Ancient Watcher, can consider keeping 1 Defender of Argus

Against warlock: keep 1 Ironbeak Owl

Against druid: keep 1 Sap (very good against druid!)

Against paladin: keep 1 Fan of Knives

Best Scenarios:

Turn 1 coin Ancient Watcher, turn 2 Ironbeak Owl

Turn 1 Zombie Chow, turn 2 Ancient Watcher, turn 3 coin Wailing Soul

Wailing Soul to silence Rag and Ogres when opponent thought you need to depend on 50% luck to win!

Play Style:

Similar to zoo deck, basically you want to control the board while hitting face. With 3 silencer and  Sap, you can deny opponent minions while putting in more minions on the board. Same as zoo, the hardest decision is probably when to go face or clear board.

No Dagger?

Unlike normal rogues, you don't need to dagger up unless you have no minions to play. Dagger is for hitting face for the extra damage or to finish opponent's minions(useful against paladin), I try to keep only 1 charge of dagger instead of saving it to avoid Harrison Jones and sometimes, you just need 1 extra dmg to kill opponent.

Very important: if you have dagger up, use 1 charge to hit face when against warlock, druid, priest or warrior before opponent's turn 5 to play around harrison.

Problem:

By turn 8 or 9 you will probably run out of cards and survive on top deck, so if opponent still have many cards left you can quit game :P UPDATE: with mystic and loatheb, card draw is less of a concern.

When to go face:

When you don't have a good way to clear the board and you have less card than opponent, it is time to go face. No point controlling the board if you are running out of card!

Best Match up:

Freeze mage: there are so many silence in the deck and Wailing Soul to unfreeze minons, I only remember 1 or 2 lost against Freeze Mage.

Normal Match up:

Druid: usually they don't have so many answer, use Sap to turn the tide and silence the big taunts. TGT UPDATE: the new druid is very bad match up now.

Warlock: Against demonlock depends on who has the better draw to control the board, against handlock just wack face and hope they don't have molten giants!

Paladin: Against aggro pala, sometimes you have to race him instead of clearing all the 1/1s(when you can't clear the board). Against control paladin is similar to druid.

Priest: either they have the answer or don't

Warrior: Rush them down or rage quit at turn 7.

Worst Match up:

Face hunter: There is no heal and only two Defender of Argus, you need to control the board from turn 1 and deny any damage as possible, and race him from about turn 4 or 5.

WinRate:

I never really tracked the win rate. But yesterday and today I played 36 games and went from rank 5 to rank 3. I win 22 and lost 14 so my win rate is 61.1%. I made some silly mistakes in at least 3 games that I lost so if you are a better player I am sure your win rate can be much better than this!

Here are some "wins" I recorded. Sorry the top and btm were cut off. This is the first time recording and the set up was wrong.

Why Rogue:

Feel free to try it with another class! I started with rogue because I like classes that are less played, and I wanted to include 2 less popular card Ogre Ninja and Dark Iron Skulker (sadly I have to cut this card, it can be super good or super bad)

Answered by andriska159:

Rogue have good tempo and burst spells so this is why its a rogue deck.

Sap = Best tempo card in game

Eviscerate = Best damage for 2 mana cost

SI:7 Agent = One of best 3 drops if comboed...

THis is a special deck and many times, after you defeated your opponent they will want to add you and talk about your fun deck!

Cheers,

Waspeon
