! IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ! READ FIRST !
On October 20, Hearthstone patch came live that changed the key card of this deck, that is of course Warsong Commander. Since then the deck is not a functional one, at least in this form. Instead of updating it, I will leave it as it is, and when there is an interesting Grim Patron Warrior deck discovered, I will post it anew. Thanks to all of you for +1s and comments and also to Mr. Kolento who came up with this deck in the first place :)
Incredibly cheap and incredibly effective! Kolento's deck for legend for season 14. Try it out for yourself, you won't regret it!
Edit: As I noticed this deck might need some explaining.
Basically, you need to contest the board and draw cards until you can perform the combo. When you have in your hand Warsong Commander, Frothing Berserker, Grim Patron and some triggers (Whirlwinds, Inner Rages and Death's Bite ready to trigger its deathrattle) you are ready to go. The mana cost of at least some of them should be discounted thanks to Emperor Thaurissan and you shouldn't have a problem to OTK the opponent. Use enraged patrons and Executes for taunt removal and with the rest hit face.
The main problem is to stay alive until you draw the combo, especially against aggro decks. When facing aggro, mulligan for Fiery War Axe, Armorsmith, Frothing Berserker and Acolyte of Pain. Against face hunter you want to keep Whirlwind in your hand. Control decks are usually easier matchup, you might want to mulligan for Death's Bite.
With so much card draws this deck offers you might be facing fatigue around the turn 10. Luckily by then you have in your hand all the cards you need to finish the game.
Edit: New video added
Warsong Commander, a legend never to be forgotten
most of pw decks contain slam or shield block as card drawers and no loot hoarders.
why do you prefer loot hoarders?
Does this deck still working in the current meta?
Any replacement for death's bite?
I only have 1 frothing (just crafted him) and no armorers, what should I use for the last 3 cards until I can craft them? I feel like Stormwind champion is possibly too big, but could potentially work well with Thaurisan. Raidleader, Bloodsail Raider, and unstable ghoul would preserve the curve. Kel'Thuzad could be good potentially.
Thanks so much for the help. I've obtained every card for the deck and am learning how to play it, its quite powerful. I see why those 3 cards don't synergize well.
I have seen others playing slight variations to balance it out, but I just try to clear the board and rush the combo ASAP.
-1 loot hoarder +1 grommash?
Nice deck, im currently playing a version with -1 dread corsair and -1 gnomish inventor and +1 grommash and +1 dr boom and having great results. I use grommash as another finisher and dr boom as a solid 7 drop and also the boombots have charge with warsong commander.
So in Control match ups just mulligan for Death's Bite? I'm really trying to learn how to play this deck and it's giving me a migraine, what's the best way to play Frothing? You mention mulliganing for it against aggro but I was under the impression that it was only meant to be used as a combo piece
I REALLY don't get it....I can never win with these decks!
That feel when I draw 2 of every card except activators
I really need to know this: Could Siege Engine fit anywhere in this deck? I gave this some thought and my conclusion was that i could put out armorsmith and siege engine once i have 3 or 4 Patrons on board then trigger them and i'd have like a 8 or 9/5 siege engine.
I had only one Frothing Berserker so I added Commanding Shout and it works really well. Thanks!
1. I only have one Inner rage, is it worth putting in a Kor'kon elite for the finishing or maybe an axe flinger
Inner rage is a common. Just craft a second one.
Is it possible to fit Grommash Hellscream into this deck? I'd really like him as an additional finisher.
Ok, thanks! Alas, this deck needs a lot of patience...
Some replace for death bite? :'c
Thanks c:
It is all about the draw. Once, I could not draw the winning combo as the last two cards in my stack where the warsong commanders so I lost. Additionally, I guess, despite of all the super hero pros here who win with this deck 89 percent of their games from second one, a normal player needs 30 to 40 games with this deck before knowing its potential.
Just my 2 cents.
