do you have an updated decklist of this?
this deck really rocks with majordomo lategame! i lost when majordomo came out as my last card as i was counting on it to win haha
What would be a decent replacement for Toshley while I get enough dust to craft him?
Now the thing is.....I've only got one BGH. I do have enough dust to create him but......since I don't care about playing heroic mode, I'm not sure does it worth it.
double BGH is actually fairly good right now since quite a lot of decks are playing multiple potential targets and the large amount of handlocks on ladder. It's not completely necessary but in certain metagames it is helpful
Loving the fact that it has the Toshley and Archmage Antonidas combo, but i am wondering why theres no Ice Block
With double healbot and the potential to duplicate healbots it's less likely you drop that low without just outright losing to an overwhelming unanswerable board state anyway. Also there's no alexstrasza in this deck so you lose out on the ability to heal for 14 points of damage. If you do want to fit in alex and an ice block though I'd consider maybe cutting ragnaros and a BGH as if you need that extra safety net then you dont need those anti-control cards as badly.
Great deck for the current meta - the explosive sheep really rekts havoc on aggro before turn 5 which is so crucial
Luv all the removal and AOE - I decided to keep one zombie chow and a 2nd BGH
I see StrifeCro playing this deck - you know it's good
Yeah I just saw watched the VOD of him playing the deck he had a pretty decent win percentage with it too. I really think control mage is very well positioned right now as it's only iffy matchups are against druid and warlock most of the others are around 60% in your favor and even handlock isn't that bad with double BGH & polymorph for their big guys and antonidas to pressure their face directly with fireballs.
Updated the list with the current version of the list I've been playing. I hope the constant updates aren't annoying but I'm constantly tweaking and tuning the list. If you're not facing a lot of handlock then cut the 2nd BGH for Emperor Thaurissan.
Why no acolytes?
Because of duplicate. Not only is acolyte really bad to trigger duplicate with but I also dont need as much raw card draw because ill have more minions in my hand thanks to duplicate. Also for the instances when I do want to dig for cards acolyte is slow at doing that so I'm playing 1 copy of arcane intellect.
Alexstrasza is no longer in because she was very slow and almost never used offensively. Since I'm no longer using Alexstrasza though I needed a bit more healing to combat aggro and decks like freezemage, hence the second healbot. Now that I have double healbot I'll less frequently be reaching super low HP ranges unless I'm more or less dead already and I wanted a bit more stuff to do, so I made room for the second Duplicate by cutting the Ice Block because I was just finding that it wasn't doing enough and duplicate on things like Zombie Chow, Water Elemental and Sludge Belcher can give you a lot of stuff to do in the mid game so you don't fall too far behind until you catch up with large threats and flamestrike.
The reason for the 2nd BGH is because the deck actually doesn't have much card draw since I cut acolyte of pains because I didn't really need more cards in my hand after I put in the 2nd duplicate and getting an acolyte duplicated is pretty terrible so I made room for a single Arcane Intellect as a way to quickly draw in to some new resources as aggro is less of a problem thanks to duplicate + early game minions. So with less raw card draw I needed to consistently be able to draw in to strong spot removal for big minions as this deck actually has a hard time dealing with them especially the giants from a handlock, so since handlock has become so popular it seemed like a no brainer and my handlock match up I's now about 60+% in my favor since I have a lot of really powerful removal and can usually checkmate them with Archmage Antonidas setting up lethal with some fireballs.
by the way flamecannon has been working way better for me than Duplicate, and from how well flamecannon(s) have worked, I'm assuming it's probably more useful than the 2nd BGH so far..
I face a lot of handlock so the 2nd BGH has been extremely good for me.
I might test 2nd BGH + 1 Flamecannon then as I don't have Toshley. By the way how is Baron Geddon working out for you..?
Baron Geddon is fantastic and I wouldn't cut him from this deck.
Which version are you still using though? Or did you maybe blend?
^?^
I'm mostly playing this version, the one with majordomo is too slow for the current ladder.
