Hello guys! TaikiM13 here again for another top legend Priest deck. This is my variation of the popular Chinese Priest deck with more emphasis on minions than spells. I call it Japanese Priest because it's similar to Chinese Priest but the creator, me, is Japanese :P

I stream on twitch so if you want to see some gameplay with this deck or any other deck, check me out here ! http://www.twitch.tv/taikim13/

So this deck is focused more on minions, as you can see with the inclusion of two Shredders, Toshley, Black Knight, and Ysera...cards that the traditional Chinese priest deck does not run. This deck DESTROYS aggro with double chow, cleric, gilblin, Cultist, and Deathlord so I wanted to fit a "greedy" aspect to the deck. This list can beat control warrior, druid, and the mirror match. This deck also avoids BGH which is something very important in the current meta.

So since I know people are going to ask why I have Toshley in the deck, I'm just going to explain it here. Toshley has synergies with Priest because of Pyro, Shadow Madness, Shadow Word Death, and Cabal. Let's just take a look at the spare parts:
Whirling Blades: not the best one but it can make your small minions bigger and even combo with Shadow Word: Death (i.e. +1 attack on Ysera to use SWD).
Armor Plating: this is basically a free pyro trigger and it can work as a weaker Power Word: Shield. Not the best spare part but it has uses.
Emergency Coolant: A free freeze on any minion. Can set up a Sylvanas play or just heal you from some damage.
Cloackfield: Stealth on minions like Ysera is very powerful and could win you the game. You can basically trade and cloak a damaged minion to prevent it from dying and freeing up your hero power for healing something else.
Reversing Switch: The good spare part! Can combo with Cabal Shadow Priest and even set up for some crazy shadow madness plays(i.e. taking a belcher and reversing switch it to trade with an enemy 5/5).
Rusty Horn: A free sunfury protector against aggro decks and works as an assassinate with The Black Knight.
Time Rewinder: Shadow madness combo!!! Take a belcher, attack, and bring it back to your hand. It can also re-use battlecries and allows you to bring back a damaged minion and replaying it for a full heal.

ALSO, did I mention Toshley is a 6 mana 5/7 that can trade with two Belchers, a Shieldmaiden, Emperor, and other 5-health creatures??

The Black Knight also serves an important purpose in this deck as well. This deck has a lot of small minions that could be buffed, most of them under 4 attack. This poses a problem because it means that this deck cannot deal with Sludge Belcher efficiently. TBK is a very good way to deal with Belchers and also makes the Druid match-up better. Also, the taunt spare part with Toshley works with him for a spot removal. Additionally, if this deck becomes popular it can kill opposing Deathlords and Belchers that can easily shift the game in your favor.

Ysera is Ysera. It's really good. It makes control match-ups better. The old Chinese Priest was great against aggro but weaker against control. With Ysera, TBK, and Toshley, control matches are easier for this deck while maintaining the great aggro match-up.

Card replacements: you can substitute any cards for Cabal, Lightbomb, Thoughtsteal, Harrison Jones, Loatheb, Pyro, or any other late game minions that doesn't get hit by BGH. If you want to cut cards from the deck to fit in whatever cards you want to include, i would cut Gilblin, Thoughtsteal, or Black Knight before I cut anything else.

MULLIGAN GUIDE:

Hunters(close to 90% win rate):  basically keep all minions under 3 mana. You have so many and Hunters can't deal with a turn 3 2/8. Keep PWS

Zoolock(40-60% win rate) : same mulligan tactics as hunter. Just try to take control of the board and save your lightbomb for when you absolutely NEED them. keep PWS. I've started to realize that the midrange demonlock is giving this deck a lot of trouble. I am working on improving this match-up because there are a lot of zoos in the meta right now.

Handlock(30% win rate): This deck does surprisingly well for a priest against handlock. Just mulligan for a nice minion curve. Only keep Thoughtsteal + SWD if you know it's handlock.

Druid(60-70% win rate): Mulligan for minions <4 mana. Keeping shredder is ok if you already have early game plays.

Warrior(70% win rate): mulligan for Shredder, Thoughtsteal, Gilblin. Be very conservative with your lightbomb and get as much value as you can. Never play Deathlord unless you have removal in hand or a good lead on board. I usually hold Deathlord until like turn 20+ when fatigue becomes an issue.

Rogue(30% win rate): Mulligan for early game+ Velen's. Only way you win is by overwhelming the Rogue with minions.

Shaman(80% win rate): mech shaman decks can't get over 3 mana 2/8's. Win on board with your superior creatures and win.  Keep PWS

Paladin(80% win rate): mulligan for small creatures (1-2 costs). Keep pyro and power word shield.

Mage(60% win rate): mulligan for small creatures <4 mana. your small creatures make mirror entity bad and velen's on a minion makes mage cry. This deck has an awful match-up against Freeze. Keep PWS

Priest( 60%+ win rate): This match-up is good but it can be skewed because of Thoughtsteal. Traditional control priest dies to a Velen's but this match-up is weird because a good thoughtsteal turns everything around(i.e. One time I was destroying a priest but he Thoughtstole TBK TWICE and I lost the game).  Keep Velen's, Thoughtsteal, and <5 drops.

EDIT: dropped Shadow Madness for a Shadow Word Pain and a Thoughtsteal for a MC Tech. Meta is more aggro so thoughtsteal is less viable. Shadow madness is hard to get value nowadays because now everyone plays around it. Pain is great against Zoo especially Imp Gang Boss. Mc Tech is naturally good against aggro as well and has some minor synergy with Deathlord.
