This deck focuses primarily on control and making sure your opponent cant overwhelm you with minions, as we dont have many of our own. Using the cold spells, we can keep alot of minions pinned down while we attack the hero directly, when possible, trying to drop them to around 50% before we finish them with Hadoukens and the ever feared Shinku hadouken.
a few tips:
don't be afraid to kill off minions with fireballs. it sucks to use it on a weaker minion, but if that keeps you in the game its well worth it
coin counts as a spell. we can cast a sorcerers apprentice, then a mana wyrm, coin, mirror images, and arcane missiles all on turn 3 giving us a 4/3, 2 taunts, and a 3/2 all on turn 3 (real lucky draw but I've done it more than once)
casting mirror images the same turn as antonidas will ensure you a fireball, and help you keep him on the board for at least one turn.
you can use your hero ability to proc the enrage effect of your minions (ie: gurubashi berserker)
try not to leave your opponent at low life. ideally we want them somewhere they wont want to use a healing card, but we can easily finish them off. 10hp for against a mage is as good as dead, but will make them less likely to heal.
note: im experimenting with the gurubashi i think i may swap him for a water ele or something else.
I was lucky enough to get the Archmage Antonidas in a pack, so I decided to try this deck since it's mostly cheap cards besides the legendary. I copied the deck exactly except for one change--Loot Hoarders instead of the Novice Engineer (since I'm pretty sure this deck was created back when Engineers weren't nerfed.) So far I've played 8 matches in ranked mode and won 50% of the time. I consider myself a pretty mediocre player (I think the highest rank I've ever reached is around 10 or so, and I'm neither the smartest or hardest working player of the game) so I think for players that make better choices the win ratio could be a little higher.
From what I can tell, it's really good if you can manage to keep putting pressure on your opponent, but if you let them bring out minions that are too huge and you don't have anything in your hand to answer them right away you can get in trouble pretty quickly. I've been a little frustrated with the ratio of spells to minions, too--I think it'd maybe be better if it was reversed. I'm considering trying that soon.
This deck feels a little outpaced by the current state of the game Still, if you're lucky enough to have Antonidas this is a good deck to practice and rank with while you're saving up for better cards, so I like it overall.
