Focused around early game advantage and mid game pressure with 1-1 removal tools such as Soulfire.
There are a number of early game combos that can be seriously hard to fell with only 2-3 mana such as Tidecaller + Hungry Crab. I chose Warlock as the complementary class for Murloc due to the fact you have access to the hero ability Life Tap which is crucial in fulfilling the role of hand replenishment as you drop your hand a lot and sometimes it won't be enough.
I've also gone ahead and dropped two [card]Power Overwhelming[/card] in there for obvious OTK reasons. Old Murk-Eye obviously also helps with otking. A couple more techs I've added in are Soulfire, generally you're dropping your hand fast so the negative -1 cost for Soulfire doesn't phase you too badly. Bloodmage Thalnos has won a spot here because quite frankly he's the best card in the game right now and should be in pretty much every deck going. He complements low cost removal, as well as replacing himself.
Overall the deck works like it should, you either win early or the game goes on long enough to see yourself smashed. Due to the fact your largest monster is Old Murk-Eye you need to establish early control and dominance or else you will lose.
The mirror match seems to work very much in your favor with this list due to the fact I see few people using Hungry Crab, don't forget you can eat THEIR Murlocs as well, gaining yourself a +1 and a big monster, even bigger when going against Murlocs as they are naturally small and wimpy.
UPDATE (16/1/14)
-Removed Blood Imp in place of Young Priestess as Blood Imp is now unusable.
-Added Leper Gnome in place of Shadow Bolt. Leper is 1 drop that speeds up the grind game essentially taking 4 life with 1 attack unless silenced. More valuable than the 1-1 of Shadow Bolt.
-Removed Hungry Crab in place of Voidwalker. Does the same thing as Hungry Crab, the difference being Voidwalker is a 1 drop and thus making the deck more consistent, Hungry Crab was in there to halt Murloc mirror matches, which is what Voidwalker essentially does, with his big 3 life early game.
-Removed Bloodmage Thalnos in place of Leeroy Jenkins. Leeroy's finishing capabilities are much needed in rush decks now, and since I have removed Shadow Bolt there is little point in now having Bloodmage Thalnos in the lineup.
Unfortunately this deck will not be updated frequently due to me taking a hiatus from the game. I will however do my best to update on each major update if I'm playing.
So please do not feel I am ignoring any of you, It's just that at the moment I have no advice to give as I do not play.
Hope you enjoy, don't forget to upvote if you liked it. If you didn't send me some feedback, I've worked long and hard on this deck and genuinely believe It's one of the more solid and together builds I've seen with this variant so far.
hi Bro, i love how fun this deck is, right now im playing it with 2 doomguards instead of leroy and the old murloc eye cuz i dont have the dust, but is still working amazing... also i dont have the wareleaders but i place the dude that give +1dmg to all, i know its not the best but its still amazing, also i wana ask u if ur stilll using hellfire since its no longer a free card after the new patch
for old murloc eye you dont need dust
already won 5 in a row on rankeds
Things got difficult against druid or paladin but it can easily swipe priests and EVEN the new OP mech mage which is like 50% of the decks
BRING MURLOCS BACK!!
WE DON'T NEED NO MECHS!!
Instead of leeroy useddoomguard and to replace the second priestes which I didn't have I used the puddlestomper
I replaced raiders for knife jugglers. Mostly because of Mages plus almost always people waste a lot to destroy knife jugglers. But i really like this deck it is amazing.
This is honestly bad against Zoo decks.
Why Coldlight Oracle is not included in this deck? There are only low cost card, so we can have empty hand really fast. What do you think abaout add 1x or 2x Coldlight Oracle to this deck and insted of which cards? Thanks in advance.
It's simply not in there because it allows your opponent to draw cards as well. If you don't mind them drawing cards there is no reason to not have Coldlight Oracle in your deck
reached rank 8 today with this deck, it's really great :)
If you're going to replace Leeroy, don't replace him with Mukla. Replace him with something like Argent Commander or Doomguard, something that is similar to Leeroy
Tried this deck on 3 casual games, won all 3, just had one of my tightest games so far against a control Druid which I honestly believed to be a loss, here's a little resume for anyone interested:
I managed to get a lot of cheap murlocs early on for some hefty damage until turn 5, the card draws were near perfect, Murk-Eye popped up when I had a full board of Murlocs which allowed me to both kill every Taunt minion the enemy would pop and get some face damage within the same turn.
Mid game forward I started to struggle as the enemy had used both his Healing Touch cards to regain health and Ancient of War along other strong creatures started to pop frpm him, I was still able to suicide murlocs on Taunt AoW and pull face damage further while having to use life tap every turn as I was having a heavy shortage of hand.
The game was coming to a close, I had a 3 or 4 murlocs on the battlefield and the enemy was 6 health while I was 10, we were past turn 10 and the enemy pops Deathwing and cleans the board along with his 4-5 card hand while I had no cards, I thought to myself this was it for me, and what draws for me at the start of my 'last' turn?
Leeeeeeeeroy Jeeeeeenkins!
This kind of game makes love Hearthstone even more, the deck is really fun and straightforward.
Popped in to say I just started Hearthstone this past week, got lucky with some packs and made a deck somewhat similar to this. Looked around for a bit, found this one, did some crafting, and now I'm using it.
Just went from 25-15 with it and still steadily climbing. Good stuff. Curious to see how far it'll take me.
Edit: Day 2 - I have made Rank 5, still climbing steadily.
Omg, really?
You start Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, play it for a week, and have enough to make a 4840 dust deck!
Then you go from rank 25 to 5?
How?
Good luck beating a druid with this deck. Between hero power, wrath, swipe, magic damage, innervate, druids o the claw, ancients of war... yeah, good luck lol.
So.... am I missing something with the deck here? I have the deck as is exactly built as shown here, and I'm 0-4, on CASUAL nonetheless. I'm calling shenanigans on all the ridiculous winrates and high ranks you are all talking about, unless you playing some easy ass region like EU I don't see this deck ever being viable.
Based on the streamers I've seen definitely not the case
Deck is awful at the moment. Started playing it at rank 17. Won one game, lost 5 in a row. Rank is sinking faster than the titanic. I'm a pretty competent player (started playing m:tg in 1993), and almost every game started out absolutely flawless. I get them to 1-3 every single time but they just control my minions so well there's nothing I can do. I think I did extremely well to survive long enough to get my opponents that close to death each time. I guess people are on to the murlocs now, and the fun is over?
For the record, every game was vs. a paladin or mage.
Update: Still losing every.single. game.
UPDATE #2: I guess my opponents just had amazing luck at the start. I won my way back up to 16 after some time. A lot of people know how to counter this deck and a lot of people are playing something almost exactly like this. Makes for some frustrating games, but the deck isn't so bad.
Great deck, really fun.
I run Doomguard instead of Leeroy Jenkins as Leeroy is the only card I don't have.
Thanks for the deck and the tips first of all...
I wanted to share that i had to make some alterations since i did not have those legendarie; instead of Murloc Tidecaller i inserted Raid Leader so i preserved that +1 soem sort. I also put in Frostwolf Warlord for Old Murk-Eye, yea there is huge gap between that tiny charge ability but wth..And finally i had Molten Giant instead of Leeroy Jenkins. Still working but not that perfectly.
I'm 4-0 so far with this, the main key was using thepoxbox's tips a few comments below. seriously, that's all you need to know for this. rank 8 atm btw.
I run an Elite Tauren Chieftain for the hopes of I Am Murloc in replace of a Flame Imp.
When both people get it and use it, you drop Old Murk-Eye and hilarity ensues. Just for RNG luck and laughs though, not really meant to be taken seriously.
