Here's a fun little deck. Got me to legend rank the past two season and I plan to use it again this month. The basics of the deck are to hit minions with weapons and hit face with minions. This deck can maintain pressure and deliver huge amounts of damage. Also everyone mulligans for Control Warrior so that doesn't hurt.
Synergies:
Most pirates combo with our 7 weapons. Don't be afraid to play a naked or Bloodsail Raideron turn 2
Mulligan:
Keep Fiery War Axe, Ogre Warmaul, Bloodsail Raider, Leper Gnome. If you already have an early weapon keep Dread Corsair. I like to keep Whirlwind against Hunter and Paladin to deal with their early one health creatures.
Last 2 weeks of January Stats. All above rank 5.
Bad Matchups:
Mech Mage~ 38% 12-20
The freeze mechanics of the mage are a killer for this deck. You must kill Snowchugger immediately. I use Owl for Annoy-o-Tron. Brawl is a key card in this matchup.
Control Warrior~ 43% 6-8
Warrior got a lot of health gain from GvG with Shieldmaiden. Either put on insane amounts of pressure or play as slowly as you can for Gorehowl Upgrade! combo.
Fair Matchups:
Driud~ 67% 14-7 (both kinds)
This matchup really dependent on the druid draw. Druid of the Claw is the biggest problem for this deck, since 6 health is hard to deal with on turn 5. Just play around Swipe. Also Ogre Warmaul kills
Priest~ 67% 8-4
Don't extend to far Auchenai Soulpriest Circle of Healing will kill of your minions. Only 2 minions out at a time and pressure him with weapons.
Hunter (Both kinds) ~ 70% 23-10
Control the board early with Fiery War Axe and Dread Corsair. After that this deck will be able to put out more damage than the hunter. Also your Armor Up! ability saves you from the Hunter's Steady Shot.
Good Matchups:
Handlock~ 82% 14-3
Save Ironbeak Owl to get past taunt. Don't use it to remove his Azure Drake. Brawl is another great card for this matchup. Don't worry about their health for Molten Giants.
Rogue~ 83% 15-3
Rogue rarely has health gain and they don't have any taunts. In addition they kill themselves with their hero ability. Just stick to the basics and you'll do fine.
Control Paladin~ 84% 21-4.
Keep Whirlwind for Muster for Battle. Also keep Death's Bite the Paladin doesn't have too much burst or taunts making this an easy matchup.
Shaman~ 86% 6-1
Most of our minions are 3 health and the Shaman has many ways to deal 3 damage. Thankfully most Shamans don't have any health gain so Just go for face. Brawl is very useful to deal with their board. Also Ogre Warmaul will miss Al'Akir the Windlord and hit face.
Zoolock~ 100% 2-0
Nobody plays it at legend.
Edit: April 14th, 2016
This deck already runs way too many weapons. You will often find yourself overloaded with weapons. Same reason why you don't run a second Arcanite Reaper I guess.
I don't know if you are trying to make a similar deck, but this one is far outdated.
This deck sucks. Id rather use the OTK warrior deck which sucks too but less l
This deck is outdated.
This deck blows
Why is this deck still on the front page? I just tried this deck again. Bearing the ladder reset, it might not be accurate assessment but still, pretty tough to win with. The trades are so inefficient and your minions just die so easily. An annoyotron and its gg. If anyone has footage of this deck in action I would love to see it because its really fun with it works but otherwise it feels like a waste of time.
Why the Frothing Berserker?
It's our only 3 drop. It's a threat which means that if removed they won't have removal for something else. We have 3 Whirlwind effects to pump him up insanely. Best combo is Frothing Berserker, +2 Dread Corsair, swing with Death's Bite, Battle Rage giving 4 cards, 2 3/2 Taunts, and a 6+/3 for 5 mana. The Frothing will also get pumped up when the opponent deals with the Taunts.
What do you think. Replacing [card]Captain Greenskin[/card] with Grommash Hellscream ? Only reason I am asking is bc, of course, I do not have Captain Greenskin
1 for 1 trade wouldn't be good because we would like to actively use Whirlwind and Death's Bite. You might want to change the deck around to include two Cruel Taskmaster but it doesn't quite fit in the deck currently. But give it a try and see if it works.
Sludge Belcher or Leeroy Jenkins are good replacements for Captain Greenskin. It can still get to Legend, but Mech-Mage is becoming increasingly popular so may be a little harder. Maybe a second Brawl could work.
Hi. Thanks for posting this deck. I've created it myself, but I'm having trouble with knowing how to play it, despite your quite in depth instructions. It would be great if you could maybe go a little more in depth with the key cards, or possibly some combos that come in handy. I find myself really struggling with minion control. I know I'm meant to go face, but when my opponent plays a lot of minions at once, I just get overwhelmed and die before I can take them out. I read your tactical approach on using weapons to take out minions, and use my minions to go face. What about the usage of Mortal Strike? Do I save that for Minions only, or do I go face with it? If my opponent puts up a few minions, I can only really hit 1 one them, unless I have Whirlwind or Death's Bite, but even then, that's only 1 damage on each minion. I know you mentioned in an earlier post that you were considering maybe writing a piece on each card. That would be really helpful if you could do that. Also, if you stream, I'd love to watch you play this deck to get some pointers. Or if you would allow me to add you ingame, I'd like to spectate to see how to play. Or maybe just some youtube vids.
Thanks in advance.
Heyy glad that you are trying out the deck.
One tip for when to go for face is to count out the damage for the next 2-3 turns, if you can kill them then focus your spells like Mortal Strike and weapons at the enemy(This is generally around turn 6). By the time the opponent can put out multiple minions, you should have reached that threshold. I like to keep Whirlwind against Hunter and Paladin because they can put out multiple minions early.
Trolling! This guy never reach legend with this deck
Cheap deck for making dailys, or for novices accounts.
Built this deck with really high hopes that this would bump me up a couple ranks. Followed the mulligans and only one a single match in 12 games. Nothing to get through multiple taunters and instead of going for the face I spent more time covering mine in embarrassment.
This deck just feels really bad. You get flooded with weapons more often than not - and if you're spending your time clearing minions with an arcanite reaper as you say the minions you have don't have staying power against ANY deck you will likely face. Sure, the stars align sometimes and you kill the bloke by turn 6 but I just don't believe this is a deck you got to legend with. Reynad's Aggro Warrior is much better even now.
I tried Strifeco's 33 streak paladin and got massacred 2 games in a row by this, nice.
What about Leeroy Jenkins ? Good damage to face and even if u don't win u can still kill the 1/1's with Death's Bite / Whirlwind
I'd love to try a Bouncing Blade in this deck. What would you take out? Maybe Whirlwind?
If things are going normally, Bouncing Blade would work against you in this deck. You are normally removing his minions with your weapons and keeping your alive. All of your minions here have big attack potential, but fairly low health.
For fun with Bouncing Blade you might look for a deck with the enrage minions: Warbots, Amani Berserkers, Raging Worgens, Spiteful Smith, Gurubashi Berserker and Grommash Hellscream.
terrible deck... 2-12. u can win only non-control decks. so lame.
