This deck revolves around Raging Worgen + Inner Ragex2 + Charge + Rampagex2. Everything else in the deck is either to kill off threats, clear a path for the combo, draw into the combo, or deal some face damage so you don't need the full 6-card, 10-mana, 32 damage combo. Winning by pulling off the combo is easily the most satisfying experience I've had playing Hearthstone so far.
As you can tell, there are no GvG cards in the decklist. The one expansion card I think has a place in this deck would be Bouncing Blade.
The other thing you may notice is it happens to be a pretty budget deck, having no legendaries or rares and only 2 epics (a Shield Slam and a Brawl). This isn't by design, it's just a happy coincidence that most of the pieces are either common or basic.
A list of combos/damage/mana costs is listed below:
-
Raging Worgen + Charge + Inner Rage = 16 damage, 6 mana
-
Raging Worgen + Charge + Inner Rage + Inner Rage = 20 damage, 6 mana
-
Raging Worgen + Charge + Inner Rage + Rampage = 22 damage, 8 mana
-
Raging Worgen + Charge + Inner Rage + Inner Rage + Rampage = 26 damage, 8 mana
- Raging Worgen + Charge + Inner Rage + Rampage + Rampage = 28 damage, 10 mana
-
Raging Worgen + Charge + Inner Rage + Inner Rage + Rampage + Rampage = 32 damage, 10 mana
-
Raging Worgen + Charge + Taskmaster = 16 damage, 8 mana
- Raging Worgen + Charge + Taskmaster + Inner Rage = 20 damage, 8 mana
-
Raging Worgen + Charge + Taskmaster + Inner Rage + Rampage = 26 damage, 10 mana
EDIT: Added Emperor for a Slam. Emperor Thaurissian lets the OTK damage go EVEN HIGHER. Emperor gives you the opportunity to squeeze in extra taskmasters and both charges on one worgen. That means the new theoretical one turn damage potential is:
Raging Worgen (4) + Charge (2) + Charge (2) + Inner Rage (2) + Inner Rage (2) + Rampage (3) + Rampage (3) + Cruel Taskmaster (2) + Cruel Taskmaster (2) = 22/5 WIndfury Charge Raging Worgen. 44 damage in one turn if you get enough reductions from Emperor. 48 if you've got a Death's bite equipped. Control Warriors are now in range :D
EDIT 2: Emperor was too slow against this format. Added a second Brawl, and it seems to be working pretty great. Also swapped out a slam for an Antique Healbot to help against all the aggro that's in the meta right now.
Hello! Thank you for the decklist. If I wanted emperor in here, what would you replace? And would it be worth replacing anything to get emperor? Already have him, so if he fits and there's a good card to take out please let me know :D
Kind of like Miracle Southsea Deckhand, can you also put a faceless Manipulator here?
You shouldn't play Warrior without Death's Bite, sorry.
and emperor isnt that slow in this meta. emperor has won me most of my games with the worgen deck i made my score is 23-7
Dude this was posted just after gvg..
Sometimes you don't wait for the full combo. Yes it can suck if both charges are on the bottom of your deck but typically you have enough survivability through your weapons, removal, and armor to get some pieces of the combo in hand. This deck isn't nearly as reliable and versatile as Grim Patron but it's a lot of fun to surprise people with. I agree that sometimes you miss the combo but I've had a lot better luck than 2/9.
It's tough to say. Death's Bite is very much a Warrior staple. In this deck alone it serves as removal, card draw (with Acolyte), board clear, face damage to put you in range, and an activator for enrage. I have to recommend doing that Naxx wing ASAP. In the meantime:
My first suggested replacement would be Unstable Ghoul, but if you don't have Death's Bite, I doubt you have ghoul (both Naxx cards). Second suggestion would probably be a second Whirlwind and a second Slam.
Don't listen to people saying this is just a "fun" deck.. I'm using it on ladder right now around rank 5 and it's actually doing really well.
Fun deck. I don't have many Warrior cards, so this was ideal. Just made it to turn 10, almost lost the game but a charging 14 dmg Wargen saved me.
Made a small change, swapped in novice engineers for loot hoarders. I feel drawing immediately is more important to the deck than an extra point of attack on the minion. This is the only deck I've played on ladder this season, and right now I'm back and forth between rank 4/5. Mech mage and control warrior continue to be bad matchups, paladin, face hunter, and zoo are a coin toss, oil rogue, priest, and handlock are dominated
Obviously not a ladder deck but omg is this deck so much fun. I just combo'd on turn 10. Worgen + inner rage + inner rage + charge + rampage + rampage for 32 damage. 1 hit TKO! LMAO!
I love this deck. It's so strong and fun play! :)
Hi I really like the deck, I have been looking for a lower budget warrior deck for a long time. Do you have any advice on how I should be mulliganing? Do you always keep the worgen/weapons etc
Yeah, first off never keep any combo pieces, including worgen. Always keep weapons, shield blocks, taskmasters, loot hoarders, and/or acolytes.
Great thanks! In your opinion what do you think the worst matchups are for this deck?
By far, control warrior is the toughest matchup. You have to lay on early pressure and go face often with weapons to keep them in range. If they get out of combo range with armor, you lose.
Also I've since swapped out the Boar for a Whirlwind. I decided more removal is better then an emergency trap breaker.
