Greetings fellow mages!

Welcome to my Odd tempo mage guide. But first let us get the formalities out of the way!

I’ve been playing card games since the late 90’s, my experience with paper card games has transitioned and flourished in the realm of online. I was able to Alpha / Beta test some well known online TCG’s such as Gwent, Artifact, ESL, Magic Arena and our beloved Hearthstone

In Hearthstone early days a few friends and I brewed up a deck list we named the ‘Freeze Mage’, may she rest in peace.

After a few years hiatus from Hearthstone, I’ve returned and tried to make Mages popular again.

Enjoy! CHL

Introduction:

The following decklist takes some amazing old cards and mixes a brew with some new cards from the latest expansion. The first question we ask with this deck is how do we win?.

Basically this deck preforms well at having a nice mana-curve to throw out our minions that synergies with our hero power.

Because we have ( baku ) this make our hero power deal two damage instead of one. Once we transition from early to mind game, we want to be try to establish a board presence while controlling the board as best we can.

Into the late game we can setup a strong board with janna a card that drops rag to deal 8 damage to a random enemy.

Synergies / Combos:

This section will explain my overall card choices and some cool little combos to look out for.

Key cards:

In this section I will outline the key cards that are too valuable to sub out, while offering some alternatives for the ones that can.

“This deck overall is really affordable!”.

1. Baku the Mooneater

Baku allows our hero power to transform, accelerating us into a mid to late game Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk

2. Kirin Tor Mage

Just a great card that allows us to play a secret for free.

Speaking of secrets

3. Counterspell Counterspell is hands down one of the best secrets in the game. Save this around Secret hunters turn 4 - 5 and watch the concede when their emerald stone is countered

Mulligans

My deepest apologises I will continue updating this over the next week, University is just kicking some butt at the moment

But feel free to discuss and ask any questions.
