One nice thing about this deck is the role of the Undertaker. Most players that include Undertaker in their decks try and build everything around it, but this deck only has it to draw out early removal like Wrath and Frostbolt. Even Handlocks, which Priests are typically weak against, will use an Ironbeak Owl to neutralize an Undertaker. Thanks for using up one of your Silences, buddy!
Of course, that's not to say that you'll never buff up Undertaker, as there are 8 cards that have Deathrattle in this deck. But compared to other Deathrattle Priest decks, this one trades off some early game Aggro for a little late game "oomph" with Mind Control and Sylvannas.
I also think this deck is easily adaptable for changing metagames. Sub out Mind Control for Holy Smite if you face too much Aggro. Consider another Mind Control, or put in Ragnaros and/or Holy Fire for longer Control matches.
I only wish I found this deck sooner, since GvG is coming out so soon.
alternatives for Sylvanas?
In my experience there is no substitutes for the undead queen. But I suppose a second Mind Control, if you feel confident you will be able to use it. otherwise any 2 for 1 cards will work. Sunwalker or Cairne Bloodhoof. Another option could be Faceless Manipulator. But ultimately Sylvanas is great because if they don't have a silence it slows the board down. "Do I want to play my gromash or tirion fordring with her on the board? Do I want to risk losing yesera and kill her now? I play her late game when removal and tech cards are slimmer. She's a great stall card and if you have 10 mana you can desperate play her with a Shadow word: death and instantly take something from them. But the cards I listed should be acceptable subs. But you should craft sylvanas, when you can. I don't see her falling out of the meta anytime soon, just like loatheb she works in most decks.
Thanks for full explaination!
I really appreciate it!
After first 10 games with this deck I went 9-1. It's a solid deck and I like that's it's faster then most priest decks. It comes out at a good pace and even holding 1-2 cards in your hand you typically always have options. I have always liked Sylvanas Windrunner in priest deck to combo with Shadow Word: Death is really clutch. A lot of times I use this combo when I know a paladin is holding Tirion Fordring and is waiting for me to blow Mind Control. This is a nice follow up if you don't have to use SW:D at any other time.
The things I might change is Undertaker seems a little underwhelming in this deck. But is a good card to draw out removal. I might switch one out for another [card]Shadow word: Death[card], maybe a pain. The extra death is good for control warriors for sure. Alternately subbing in another Holy Nova at first seems expensive but can really turn a game around. Against rush hunters and zoo a double nova for double clear can win you the game.
Overall I played the deck and I like it. I will continue to play it till it starts to slow down. Then probably switch decks at higher ranks. Unless you are for sure this deck can reach legendary.
I like this deck so far. A full write up would be awesome but so far this deck is really kicking some ass :P Will post results soon
This deck is awesome. I usually don't bother trying to move up in Ranked games. I tried once long ago as a caster rogue which was fun but I never got very far (16). I picked up this deck and started recording my statistics and it's proven to be great. Some notes below
Ive made a couple of changes to help with the handlock matchup. I run a Mind Blast, Silence, Shadow Madness and Ysera in the place of both Thoughtsteal, one Cabal Shadow Priest and Mind Control. I havent lost to a Handlock in 3 games so far - small number of wins (I know), but that statistic is WAY better than the 0 wins I had before I made the changes. The Mind Blast is for that extra reach if you can manage the double chow, auchenai, circle combo - 15 damage that can be done once they go Jaraxxus as well. Amazingly fun deck to play!
Played a deck similar to this a few seasons back. This deck is good in the current meta 20/10 (67% win rate)
-1 Cabal +1 shadowmadness
i wanna add +1 cairne -1 loatheb, what do you think guys ?
I agree
I agree I don't think cairne flows with this deck. At least not at the cost of a loatheb.
This deck is great! I'm up to rank
654 with 75% wins against huntards, that are ~25% of my matchups, and zoo too. It's bad versus handlock and control warrior, and very hard to win against control pally cause of his equality combos, weapons and healing. Rogue is no problem, actually I've lost zero games to it(but rogue is rare nowadays). Only change I've made is -1 Cabal Shadow Priest(I don't have second Cabal and imho it's too slow) +1 Shadow Madness that helps to control the board.Zetalot used it before you.
Hi, I'm running my version of this. I have no cabals or sylvanas, so I play kelthuzad cairne and 1 shadow madness instead.
Do you think my version is good enough for ladder? So far it works pretty good, I'm rank 9 now. Hunters are beatable, but handlock is really hard and zoo can be pain to deal with if I start with mediocre hand or they have really fast start.

Klokanjj, KT is a win more card, no good. I would put in a holy fire for Sylvannas and one SWP & one shadow madness for the cabals. KT is a card you get to use when you already have the game won, and CAIRNE is my favorite Legendary but sadly he is too slow this Meta.
If you put SWP & Shadow madness in, those hunters & zoo won't be an issue.
I disagree. Kel have pulled me back into the game so many times due to respawning of Belchers and other big minions, more often than he has pulled me down.
I did not say he pulls you down Fierza, wat I said is he is a " win more " card. From my personal experience the only time you can afford to play KT is because you already have board control and game advantage. You would have won any game you could afford to use 8 mana on KT with anyways.
If you have minions such as ' Belcher and/or other big minions, than you are in fine shape even with low life.
Thank you so much for this deck!!
I just reached legend with it from rank 2 (was stucked with hunter...)
29-15, 66% winrate
If you have any question, maybe I can help :)
Heya Sulfuro, did you make a card changes at all during your climb?
