A Kingsbane list I've been having a lot of success recently!
PROOF:
---------------------
EDIT:
Currently 42-8 With the deck. This deck is just insane in the right hands. The only matchup I'm having problems with are Odd Mages - But you can easily beat them playing your Vanishes perfectly!
GUIDE:
Mulligan:
1. Kingsbane - The deck is basically built around the weapon. So having it in your starting hand is going to get you off to the best start.
2. Cavern Shinyfinder - Excellent way to draw your Kingsbane if It didn't start in your hand. Can be useful at mid game to redraw your Kingsbane once It's shuffled
3. Raiding Party - Similiar to Shinyfinder. Another great way to get your Kingsbane with 2 Pirates! Excellent if you have your coin / prep
4. Fan of Knives - Keep FOK if you're against aggro opponent. Its an easy way to deal with Odd Paladin and it draws you another card!
GENERAL:
Early game: Your is focused on buffing your Kingsbane or tracking it down If it didn't start in your hand.
Mid game: Continue buffing your Kingsbane and keep the board under control! Find your Leeching Poison and keep yourself healed. You can use your Doomerang for removing stuff and getting your weapon back to your hand.
Late game: Once your Kingsbane is big you should start killing your opponent with it. Use Vanish / Sap to get rid of taunt minions or Water Elementals if you're facing mage. Valeera is very usefull in late game - You can basically double sap / double buff your weapon and Valeera gives you a one turn of safety.
MATCHUPS:
Aggro:
1. You can have a hard time dealing with aggro. Just try to keep the board under as much control as possible. If they develop a big board you can use your Fan of Knives or Blade Flurry to clear it.
2. Get your leeching poison as soon as possible! It's going to help you to outlast the damage from aggro decks.
3. Vanish can be a turn 6 play to slow down your opponent. Keep in mind you can do it earlier with your prep+vanish combo.
4. Don't be afraid to throw your Doomerang at weaker minions. Aggro doesn't usually run too many big minions (Best to throw it with your Leeching Poison on so you get the healing aswell)
Control:
1. Kingsbane is pretty safe against other control decks. So take your time drawing your buffs.
2. You have a lot of removal options for their big threats - Doomerang, Blade Flurry, Sap and Vanish if their hand is full. You can also try playing walk the plank - It's a decent card to run.
3. You can also play pretty greedy with Vanishing your buff minions back to your hand and buffing your Kingsbane even further!
4. If your opponent has setup a winning play you can simply swing their face for extra lifesteal then play Valeera to give you a chance to delay it and find a way to counter them.
5. Sprint is very useful against control decks. Helps you to find your resources and your Kingsbane if you haven't found it yet.
6. Mojomaster Zihi - An excellent tech card against control and combo decks! I've been having ton of success with Zihi!
RIP LUL
No, I don't think so just yet. I have played (my version of) this deck even after the nerf on Leeching Poison, and I've found a really cool dagger-like play style that just wasn't there before. My winrates with this continue to be pretty much the same, considering one of the most powerful decks against this were Shudderwock and Odd Pally. I may be at a low rank or not, but it seems like Kingsbane is still out there, although probably not for long.
My edited version doesn't have Doomerang, 1 Prep and the Sprints. Again, I may be at low rank, but Sprint seems a little slow, now that you can't attack with your weapon on the same turn.
I cut out one of the dreads for a shadow step, it's good for odd paladin but adding more charges to kingsbane by bouncing green skin has improved my win rate to legend
I replaced one Leeching Poison with Academic Espionage
it's perfect in mirror and against most of hard control matchup (like demonlock with gnomferatu, mage and etc)
its perfect with valeera DC to refresh you deck up to 20 cards
I don't have Captain Greenskin Is it necessary?
I have other legendary cards Leeroy Jenkins and The Black Knight
It's very good for giving kings bane the +1 durability
I would definitely consider saving up to craft it if possible
BOOM
Humping throught the ranks with this. Took valeera out for mojomaster as facing a lot of spell hunters.
Great deck glad to use my kingbane at long last
I cut the corsairs- I always felt like they were a dead draw off the first raiding party. I put in two shadowstep and it can be crazy in the mirror.
I was trying to update my Wild Kingsbane Rogue, and I ended up being unable to improve this Standard list with Wild cards, with the exception of Goblin Auto-Barber (marginal improvement over Toxicologist), and maybe Tinker's Sharpsword Oil.
The introduction of Raiding Party marks on stone the differentiation between old Mill Rogue with Coldlight Oracle and Kingsbane Rogue.
I know that. My point was exactly that was unable to seriously improve this deck for Wild purposes.
Kingsbane reached so much support that using the old style Mill package in Kingsbane decks is now obsolete.
You either go old style full-blown Mill or full-blown Kingsbane.
Good to see that Kingsbane decks are finally getting some support :P
so much fun, I love it! <3
Created account just so i could comment and up vote you sir. Fantastic deck. I'm a complete noob at rogue stopped at 69% winrate after the first 13 games. Why stop? it's almost 5am and ...69.. yes i'm a kid at heart
my best was 17 yet :)
Shudderwock OTK Shaman just wrecks this.
This deck wrecks them. Upvote if you find it effective against this kingsbane plague.
omegaLUL shudderwock cancer that literally has no way of loosing calls "plague" a more complicated deck lul
This deck has plenty of ways to lose. You would know if you tried it. Its not an optimal shudderwock list, at all. Its tailored to kill kingsbane rogues in such a way that they will never play Kingsbane again.
I summon all hearthpwn community to give -1 to this deck, it is currently the only cure to this cancer.
