Hi, my in game name is Chaouc, great at arena and at deck building i guess. not so experienced in ladder cause i dont like it that much, i hit legend with this deck easily in just one night equals to 7 hours of playing ladder.
Leave a comment if u have any question or if u would love to replace some cards.. i 'll explain everything in the future.
The only bad situation u can have with this kind of zoo deck is some bad hands sometimes.
Q- Why not dire wolf alpha?
A- Dire wold alpha is a 2 mana 2/2 which is pretty bad in this meta, cause too many hunters still in ladder with the sick startings of undertakers (a 2/3 undertaker eats the wolf for free). Wolf is pretty much bad card vs hunter and too situational after all. I prefer not to use it.
Q- Why do u like void terror and power overwhelming?
A- I love to have lethal when my opponent doesnt know it or guess it, so he missplays at the board. Power overwhelming is such a good card with Nerubians, Creepers, Golems and Void terror ofc.
Void terror is such a good card in this meta cause it can trade 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 many times. He can destroy priests, example of a play i ussually do is first turn voidwalker, second turn coin void terror, ur opponent priest is screwed with a 4/6 second turn trust me and he missplays after all.
Replacements: i would replace 1x void terror for
i) 1x dark iron dwarf
ii) 1x shade of naxxramas
if the meta change and u dont need silence u can replace ironbeak owl too with any of that minions up there.
UPDATE! +1 Ooze -1 power overwhelming. That will help hunter and rogue matchups!
Lord Jaraxxus is absolute beast in zoo decks.
Haha :p He is great in meta for demonlock and handlock..
For me he is good in zoo too, i tap to oblivion and push and then opponent thinks he has me and i have 3 damage instant and 15 health. And i can call some more minions 6/6 for for 2 mana. Thats op. Won countless games just on that.
Need a little advice here Chaouz..... US Server Rank 10 at the moment.... Using your deck.
What was your win %? Some days I start out like losing my first 5 games in a row, then go back up to 50%. How do you keep the edge? I would like to see some stream action of you playing this deck.
I find Belcher to be really annoying with this deck, and how do you fight Handlocks? Or those control warriors? The most common match ups I can think of is....
1) Handlock 2) Zoo 3) Secret Hunter 4) Control Warrior 5) Control Priest
Could you give us a run down on these? Thanks.
I would love to stream bro, i may do it from an internet station, cause i dont have a good pc to do it home. Handlock is very difficult matchup, u most likely win when u got a good early game and a good loatheb turn. Mirror matches are all about the trades, whoever wins the board wins the game! Secret hunter.. hmm.. explosive trap is a bit difficult to play against, but in rank 10 i suggest you to play around it like do not attack him face till u get value from ur minions with trades on board.. So the advice is: Let him build board, trade it and then trigger it, so he get less value. Control warriors are really easy bro, i got more than 90% win. Advice vs warriors: Play around brawl, like let nerubians down as 0/2 and creepers as 1/2, try to prefer trading with ur other minions so he can never play a good brawl!
Priest matchups are about ur hand and his hand and how much skilled he is with priest.. Play around his aoe.. but anyways difficult matchup if he got some holy novas, soulpriest circle, and staff..
I really dont know how much win rate i got with this deck, but the sure point is that i hit legend in 7 hours of playing it from rank 5 to legend. Cuz i m not that much of a ladder fan.. I ll try to stream and if i do i ll update it to description, hope i helped you :)
Not a fan of the Void Terror/Power Overwhelming type of Zoo decks, but it's all a matter of preference. I agree with you to some degree about Dire Wolf Alpha, but I still like to run a single copy.
If I were to make a change in this deck, I would find some way to work the second Dark Iron Dwarf back in. Zoo suffers from a dearth of large bodies and if the game goes longer than 6 turns you're in trouble if you don't have that Doomguard or Loatheb (or Void Terror, I suppose) but the Dwarves help make up for this quite a bit.
I really, really think Void Terror is garbage, though. It's just bad economy, to destroy your own cards. Plus, I *really* don't like the vulnerability to Silence (and everyone and their mother runs an Ironbeak or a Spellbreaker at least these days). If Void Terror had Charge, I'd run it in a second.
So basically, I'd sub out the Void Terror and put the second Dark Iron Dwarf back in, but that's more preference/opinion, I suppose.. Otherwise, it's a great Zoo innovation. I love the Acidic Swamp Ooze tech - I had been thinking about swapping the Loatheb for a Harrison Jones, but taking out a Dire Wolf for an Ooze is way better because I couldn't stand to part with the Loatheb and couldn't rationalize a fourth 5-mana minion in the curve.
If u see the description i say that if any1 doesnt like the void terror can easy replace him for dark iron dwarf, i may update even in the main deck that, i ll see how the ladder will keep on
Really bad card vs controls, especially when it comes after 10 card drawn. i imagine it good only vs hunters when u have to do some good early trades.. i wouldnt recommend it.
I dont know about void terror with power overwhelming. Has happened to me to many time to have void terror as last minion on board then hunter use one trap and u're screwed coz u dont know if it's freezing. Hunter's mark screw it as well. I personnally run 2 owls instead to deal with undertaker, mad scientist etc.
What do u think?
I wouldn't play 2 owls cause the stats are really bad even vs hunters.. if u dont like void terror and 2x powers i would surely recommend you 1x dark iron dwarf more + 1x ooze. 1 power overwhelming in ur deck is MUST :)
Some considerations about this deck:
I have started playing it just yesterday, having some decent results, way above my usual 50% win rate. It tends to run smoother than others zoolock I have tried so far probably due to a better mana curve and the presence of void terror.
Match ups so far: (29/44)
Priest 5/6
pretty easy match, my only loss happened with a bad starting hand and he seeing immediately cleric + wild pyro, buying him enough time to went for nova on turn5 and stealing my 2/3 taunted spider with cabal. conceded on turn 7 (belcher) with an empty board for me.
Warrior 4/4
probably the easiest match up, he is just too slow to reach turn 8 alive and hope his legends might make the difference.
Rogue 4/5
not an easy match due to his backstabs and saps but that's the thing: if he doesn't have backstab in his first 4 cards there's very few hope for a rogue to win this match. My loss started again with a sub par hand post mulligan and he getting 2 backstabs, 1 sap and 2 fans.
Warlock (zoo) 3/5 - (handlock) 1/1
as all mirror matches, it's up to who draws better. void terror gave me the edge tho. Handlock I had only one match hence not enough data. won without much effort.
Paladin (aggro) 1/1 - (control) 2/3
single match with aggro pally but I was clearly faster in posing threats and make better trades. Control was a harder match, got 2 wins out of 3 but to be fair the first 2 opponents weren't great players and made some missplays. Third one went down to a bunch of life but then started to dismantle me with mass removal, life gainers and taunts. conceded on a board with tirion just played between a 7/9 belcher and a 5/6 guardian.
Shaman 2/6
Very few to do here, even with a perfect hand I had succumbed to his bolts and storms and early taunts (spirits). Once he has stolen the initial tempo, we can count only on doomguards (given we cleared the taunts) but he starts with fire ellies and legends. since our board is so easy to clean for him, having a doomguard at risk to be stolen by sylvanas makes this match up possibly the hardest.
Hunter 4/8
Another hard match up, I had noticed it actually depends on the fact he runs (and see it early) fire trap or not. Even trying not to spread so much because of fire trap, he has anyway decent cards to remove pieces from our board forcing our plays to keep up. the main difference is we have to draw to avoid him going too far with damage but drawing actually causes us damage, hence we become an easy prey of command + hero power.
Wizard 2/2
Few data here, still, wiz isn't played much enough to justify an opinion.
Druid 1/3
too many taunts, chance to remove early undertakers with wrath, swipes... horrible match up.
Edit: played other 8 matches, 6/8, bringing total on 35/52
So i guess u had a good time bro. Yeah shamans are a bit difficult to deal with, druids also but there are really few players that u ll see playing druid in ladder and idk why.
Yeah i did play vs maaaaaany hunters and went great. hunters are about how to play around their secrets and how will u trade some undertakers and that stuff anyways. miracle rogues who will get some backstabs too early and a good blade flurry was always trouble for all zoo decklists no matter what.
Nice deck, but why 2 soulfire?
IMO it's a good card (4 free damage) for removal and in this kind of deck where you want to combo the PO's with void terror, soulfire makes up for any lack of removal
Greetings my friend. soulfire is a great card where u throw ur hand and do it for removal or for extra damage in the face. u have to play two of it for sure! full value-tempo card !
