Managed to hit 12 wins using this odd warrior deck. Turns out that there is a lot of zoo and this deck is good against it!
I just played this today, so far 4-2. Lost round 2 to toggwaggle. Died to fatigue. Lost round 4 to egg hunter. He drew an early dk hunter and buried me in card advantage. Beat two elemental shaman decks, two tempo mages.
ended up 5-3. Lost to another hunter.
So I'm using this deck in the current Brawl, and so far I'm having some really good results. I tweaked it a bit since I don't have a town crier (or the dust currently -_-) and it's really doing nicely.
This is a good deck at the moment but how do you beat togwaggle druid?
I have seen some streamers running azalina soulthief, for that match up because it can steal there combo so you can use it against them, only way to win the match up i think. Or omega assembly into a Mech Thun haha
Went 0 and 3 with this piece of trash deck. Had no way to stop two control warlocks and one kingsbane rogue. Zero! Both warlocks ate my deck. The rogue shifted his kingsbane so he never took draw damage.
maybe your just bad...
OP, I know that the tavern brawl already ended, but I want to join this little conversation regarding the control warlock MUs. And I have a question - what can an odd warrior do against a control warlock, who already found their best cards (Rin and the DK)? It's no surprise that every deck has its own natural counters, but I don't see how this list had a decent win-rate against that arch-type as you state.
And I don't mean to brag, but I myself played this deck and I never had any problems against warriors in this brawl. Warriors barely pressured me and I had a lot of time to tap and to play the seals. The only thing, which I had to remember, was to kill my own Rin with a pact.
And you can't deny, that you had to mulligan for the zoo MU first when you faced a warlock, because this was the more common case. This gave us even more advantages, because you probably kept cheap removals or taunts in the mulligan stage and threw the big boys away (Dr. Boom, Mad Genius).
I most definitely agree with you, that this deck requires some thinking and it's not easy to pilot like zoolock, but I don't see how this had a decent win-rate against control warlocks, if you didn't have a real win-condition against them. (Odd) Taunt Warrior has it.
[edit] The user Bodycount was very rude. The deck is fine. It all depends on the matchmaking and if people have the luck to encounter less unfavourable MUs.
If you have a lot of warlock MU in ladder, Odd warriors tech in Azalina. Warlocks nowadays don't run Dark Pact, waste of deck slot just for the sake of Rin trigger. Sac Pact is much better in meta because Zoo. Owl usually is enough.
Even if they happen to run dark pact, Azalina should be able to handle against Rin but it still requires skill. Add pressure, if Warlocks play Seals, they can't really have strong board presence, so let them do the work and copy Azzari hand and you can win with more armor and you know his whole hand.
True.
But regarding the tavern brawl - I faced a lot of warriors running the (almost) exact same list and I really never had any problems against them. I only lost once, because I underestimated my opponent's tech options and lost my Rin-condition because of it. But if I had played correctly, I would have won that game as well.
Pressure - like I said in the previous post, I didn't feel being pressured at all. At least this was the feeling in the TB. My opponents always took it slowly and I could tap in peace. If you claim, that the experiece is different on the ladder, then I can't continue the discussion any further, since I only played there in the first few days of the expansion and stopped after I reached r5.
Azalina is an interesting tech option, but she won't work the same way as versus shudder shaman. There isn't a grumble to reduce the cost of the cards and if the warrior hasn't pressured the warlock enough, the warlock will play their Azari first. This doesn't always mean a win, but if the warlock found their powerful cards, if they have the removal for the opponent's Azari and aren't dangerously low on health, the warlock player will most likely succeed.
Again, I didn't say anything against it. I certainly don't disagree, that control warrior decks take more skill than others (even more than my beloved warlock control variants). But in the previous post I expressed my scepticism towards OP's list because it featured a single Owl and claimed it had a decent win-rate against that deck. If the warlock player is smart, even if they don't run a Dark Pact, they will upgrade their spellstone and kill rin with it.
Tbh I'm not like the other control warlock players. I don't feel like adding a Sac Pac just for zoo (or for the demons coming from the demonic projects) is worth it. For me this tech is too situational and a waste of a deck slot, since I'm already pleased with the early game. I mean, we already have librarians, doomsayers, defiles, hellfires, spellstones, gigglings, stonehills, applebaums and if some don't think this is enough, then this is their problem. I'm one of those ppl, who also runs lackeys. Most of the time I can survive until turn 7 and if I have those cards in hand, I can summon a beefy taunt, which slows them even more.
This deck didn't last long against a ladder full of combo druids, but it did the trick against the occasional Odd Paladin/Rogue.
Easy 12 wins, only lost once to control mage who got jaina turn 9... I fed on aggro so much, they don't have a chance! 4 odd rogues, 3 odd pally, 2 zoolocks, 2 control locks and 1 hunter.
Inception.
This is the same deck Chump made last week and did a series on Youtube with.

Played this deck a few days after the release of the brawl,
everyone is playing either super zoo or control decks, and I can barley get past 3 wins.
It might have something to do with the fact that i don't have zilliax
I played a similar list with and got 6 wins without really trying
Without trying? You randomly selected which card to play and went to toilet in your turns? Or how can we imagine to win "without really trying"?
Exactly what I did lol
I lost to a slightly different version of this deck that ran 2 x MCT, I wasn't playing zoo though - combo-shaman with Thunderheads.
Nope. Maybe you confuesed it with Execute ?
