My Jaws That Bite, My Claws That Catch, My Fins That Draw!
Hello everyone.
I'm here to present this new deck that I had in mind since the Shudderwock reveal, and finally I found some time to test and play. After the patch, I refined the deck and it's proven to be competitive and Legend viable, as well as hilarious. I reached rank 1 from rank 4 within the 2 days following the patch.
As any mill/fatigue deck, this is pretty hard to pilot correctly. I'm goint to write a detailed guide, that i will gradually develop. I hope it helps ;)
Strategies
Main strategy
As a mill deck, the strategy is always the same: draw cards with Coldlight Oracle, burn your opponent's cards, kill him with fatigue. In this deck, the fatigue advantage is built thanks to Baleful Banker that has a similar role to what Gang Up has for Mill Rogue. Shudderwock will copy this battlecry on itself (if it first creates a copy of him self thanks to Saronite Chain Gang/Doppelgangster battlecry), and you will get infinite copies of it.
This deck is built to have another win condition by filling the board with Shudderwocks with Charge that cannot be removed by spells. This is given by copying the following battlecries: Saronite Chain Gang/Doppelgangster, Leatherclad Hogleader, Loatheb.
Shudderwock mechanics
There are 2 important things to know about Shudderwock:
- Its battlecry stops as one of the hero dies. This is actually good, since we do not need to worry about drawing too many cards: you need even a tiny fatigue advantage, because the battlecry will stop as soon as your opponent dies.
- It casts the battlecries in a random order on random targets.
In this regard, you need to be aware that Baleful Banker and Zola the Gorgon can only trigger on other cards than the original Shudderwock. So you want to play Shudderwock on your empty board, and hope that at least one Saronite Chain Gang/Doppelgangster battlecry triggers before Baleful Banker/Zola the Gorgon.
The same, in an opposite order, applies for Leatherclad Hogleader: if it triggers first, all the subsequent copy will have charge; if it triggers last, only one copy will get it.
So you may see how our strategy may present some chance to fail, and it's our job to make this chance as small as possible, by playing as many battlecries as possible before Shudderwock.

I'll be glad to hear any opinion or question. I hope you enjoy ;)
Would you not be better off replacing the Dirty Rat with a Deathlord seeing as you're trying to mill your opponent?
I had changed it a little bit.
I`ve put 2 Echoing Ooze and Defender of Argus in instead of Evolve (I don´t like this evolve/devolve thing), Hagatha the Witch, Sir Finley Mrrgglton,Big Game Hunter and Dirty Rat. I´ve also have 2 Leatherclad Hogleader, like I saw in another Vid. It is a bit more fun. I tried against a friend, up till now. So I can´t say how it is on ladder. It is sadly a little bit slow, cause there is some draw missing. Maybe use Novice Engineer?
I know it's just a fun deck, but this doesn't change the fact's, it's not really good.
Sadly the deck is super inconsistent, the only draw engine (I personally cut Bloodmage Thalnos) is Coldlight Oracle.
I think 2x Antique Healbot is clearly ain't enough, especially the aggrofest, in the Wild Meta at the moment.
I've played 30 games with this deck at Legend rank, i've won 10 games out of it. Not in a single game that i've won was because of the milling. Keep that in mind, most of the decks in Wild is Aggro, which makes Coldlight Oracle unplayable.
If you grab Standard Shudderwock with Lifedrinker + add some broken card from wild like Maelstrom Portal, then you might have a way more consistent deck.
If you want to have fun, play it, but don't use it for climbing.
What is the purpose of the Primordial Drake board clear or just a large taunt?
If its clear, wouldn't Hagatha the Witch be better its 1 more damage on the AoE (enough to kill Pally dudes who have been quatermastered or leveled up) + the 5 armor (I know you only gain the armor on the first cast and not from shudder) could mean the difference between fatigue or not.
Quality concept. Will play at rank 5 floor see how it performs in that netdeck fiesta
Original deck,waiting for more info +1 here ! :)
