Deck Breakdown

The core of the deck is obviously constitued by the Beasts synergies that you can see in many Hunter's decks currently : Hunter's MarkWebspinnerHaunted CreeperStarving BuzzardUnleash the HoundsAnimal CompanionKill CommandHoundmaster and Savannah Highmane.

It also comes with Flare to fight the resurgence of Hunter playing with Mad Scientist and various Traps, and I kept Leeroy Jenkins and Loatheb from my previous build to give the deck some great finishing potential.

To complete the list, I really wanted to add Undertaker to the mix because this is an amazing one drop that has to be answered in the current meta and can sometimes generate some insane value. The deck already includes some nice deathrattles so from that point all I needed to do was finding some other good deathrattle minions to add into the list.
Sludge Belcher came to mind as he gives really great value and tempo (as you can see by the fact that he is played everywhere), it is really a strong mid game tool to prepare a Savannah Highmane play.

I decided to add Leper Gnome as it can allow for some crazy starts withUndertaker that your opponent can't recover from. It's a good pressuring overall even tho it can be killed pretty easily. The nature of Hunter hero power really synergies with those kind of start and can make your climbing experience really fast if you are able to mulligan for those often.
Finally, Loot Hoarder came in to add another deathrattle into the list and help with card advantage as you'll still need to pull out some combos in order to win your games. I switched one of those for an Ironbeak Owl for its nice utility and Beast status. Tracking is also another good consideration for this slot.

Climbing with the deck

Basically, when I built this deck at the start of the season, I just thought about something that could help climbing quickly with the winning streaks to get to Rank 5 approximately. The point is that you will lose some games for sure, but the deck can win so fast that you'll play more games and end up with a good speed of climbing if you maintain a good winrate with the deck.

Mulligan Tips :

However, there is one thing to keep in mind when playing the deck : the importance of early game and mulliganing properly.
Here is how I proceed in every game, regarding of the match up : throw away everything that is not UndertakerLeper GnomeWebspinnerHaunted CreeperLoot Hoarder or Animal Companion.
You really have to understand the goal of this deck, you are the agressor, you are the one pressuring the opponent's board and life but in order to do that you really need to set up your early board presence as soon as possible. So i generally ignore situational cards that are good for the specific match up that I'm in and rather go for my own early plays.

Using The Coin :

There are two main ways of using The Coin with the deck :

  • Being conservative and coining out a Mid game play : HoundmasterSludge BelcherLoatheb or Savannah Highmane. You will generally do this when you have a nice curve in your hand and just need to ramp up those plays.
  • Going for the aggression early on with Undertaker and a deathrattle. You can do this on turn 1 with Leper Gnome or Webspinner, turn 2 withHaunted Creeper or Loot Hoarder etc.. Remember to plan your next turns when doing so, don't do this if you have nothing to play on turn 2 or 3, the goal is still to use your mana efficiently and apply a strong pressure.

Conclusion

I climbed insanely fast with this deck going from Rank 15 to Rank 5 in less than a week by playing only 1 or 2 hours a day and scoring a 70% winrate approximately. The mirror match up is really great because you are not relying on your traps not being flared and the rest of match ups are also good for you as long as you can take control of the game.
After getting to Rank 5 you can change deck to play slower games depending on what you face, I'm personnaly still playing the deck at Rank 3 and aim to hit Legend with it. And by the way, I finally unlocked my Golden Hunter =D
I hope you'll enjoy the deck as much as I do. Don't forget to upvote the deck if you liked and don't hesitate to discuss about it in the comment section below.
