Hello people of Hearthpwn. Welcome to this brief deck write up for my very own, Cube Hunter. Although I have listed this deck as a midrange hunter it falls under many categories. It has spellstones, Devilsaur Eggs and big beasts. Whatever you would consider it, the main idea with this deck is to force people it 1 of 2 bad situations. Either die to swarms of smaller minions or, clear your board and have to face down Devilsaurs and cubed Savanna Highmanes. If you want to check out the deck here is a video by KiwiNBacon that showcases the deck:
or this one by Tommy Wave. (Link wouldn't embed properly):

Deck Edits - (2/7/18) -1 Spellbreaker +1 Freezing Trap - lack of control lock opens you up to strengthen your match-up against Inner Fire priest. could also drop one the secrets or a Eaglehorn. Stops them from killing you with one minion. (2/9/18) -2Cat Trick +1 Spellbreaker +1 Freezing Trap - I have realized that 2 silences is pretty core. Both cubelock, zoolock, and divine priest and countered by freezing trap and silences. while the cat trick doesn't do a whole lot in a lot of games.
Play style - This deck has a lot of variance between match-ups. If you are against a rogue for example, you may want to play around your spellstone because they have difficulty clearing the board whereas, warlocks have an excess of board wipes that will leave them vulnerable to your powerful deathrattles. Some games you just want to ignore the match-up because you have the perfect hand to summon 2 devilsaurs on turn 4. So, I think that this is actually a very skill testing deck as far as hunter goes.
Mulligan guide (Added) - The mulligan is one of the most important parts about playing this deck. Your opening hand determines how you will play your first turns and having a strong hand with this deck is especially powerful. Sense the nerfs, there has been a rising number of aggressive/tempo decks. Tempo mage and Zoolock are coming back into meta. Against mage you want to play around explosive runes, or into it. One of the easiest ways to win against them is for them to blow up your Devilsaur Egg giving you a 3 mana 5/5. they also do not have any board removal so getting a full Lesser Emerald Spellstone is also effective. It is generally a pretty easy match. Zoolock on the other hand is a different story. They have much stronger early minions are are able to get through some of your larger minions with a few of theirs. It is best to keep disruptive secrets like Wandering Monster and Explosive Trap to slow down their pressure. If you are able to stall for long enough, Nesting Roc and Flanking Strike will usually kill their momentum.
Possible inclusions - While, I've been playing with this deck for a while and found that the list is very tight, their are a few cards you could run based on collection or personal preference. Here are a few.
Deathstalker Rexxar - A very strong care on a few special match-ups, I found that most of the time its just better to have face pressure. Rexxar allows your to run less giant beasts for your cube because you can build your own.
Kill Command - On the other hand sometime having just a bit more burst helps you break a few control deck stabalize turn. There is no shortage of beasts in this deck so you should always be using it to deal 5.
Corpse Widow - Always a fun card in any deathrattle deck. It allows you to do some combos in one turn were you would normally need two. (Highmane + Cube + terrorscale/play dead). Most of the time it is a burden to draw when you don't want to do combos.
Swamp King Dred - One of my favorite cards to test. Makes aggro matches very easy past turn 7 but just a big guy doesn't do enough against control to matter. Great to play, bad to draw.
Tundra Rhino - while running this would enable you to do large amounts of burst with this deck, it is very difficult to find the mana to play it
Because of the huge amount of views this deck has received, I plan do a full guide of the deck. Look for that Friday afternoon. Please send any good results you have and feel free to put suggestions in the comments. Ill make sure to consider them and probably put them in the guide if enough people suggest it. Happy Hearthstoning.
Has anyone above rank 20 any success with with ridiculously overvoted deck? :|
Yes, and votes don't mean its a good deck. People can enjoy the game other than just winning.
Mostly just a joke deck
The decks fun to play, IN CASUAL.
It really doesn't work against the meta/well constructed decks. I think anyone would struggle to even make rank 10 with this deck on the ladder.
I've got a zoolock, cubelock, and paladin decks I use to climb the ladder, but this is a fun deck to change things up and screw around in casual mode when I get tired of the climb.
Good deck. Using this for 50 card Hunter quest, won first 5 in a row. Then noticed game was slowly tailoring decks against me, finally topped out with a hunter against me throwing out flare and the perfect answers to anything I played every time, nothing I could do.
Again, nice deck to quest with, game is still rigged AF though.
P.S.: Saw Carnivorous Cube once out of those 6 games. Rigged.
I've done pretty well with this, though I've made several modifications. I dropped Cloaked Huntress. I only have one Flanking Strike. I dropped Nesting Roc. I added a Flare and an Eater of Secrets… there's a lot of secrets being played these days! I threw in Kindly Grandmother, because I got tired of sitting and wishing I had a minion to play or a deathrattle card to work with. Added Abominable Bowman for late game punch.
Hadn't been playing ladder. Went from 20 to 14 today with this deck.
I reached rank 3 with your deck with just 2 modifications
I changed Abominable Bowman for King Krush because i don´t have it and King is a really good card in this deck that helped me win a lot of games, players are not expecting it. And when King Krush survives theres also the combo ( Carnivorous Cube + Play Dead or Terrorscale Stalker ) for extra 16 Damage.
A few times Dirty Rat just did the job for me putting King Krush on the board and not being able to kill it
I also changed 1 Flanking Strike for 1 Deadly Shot
Fun Deck
Hey, a few people are playing this deck, doesn't have an impressive winrate sadly.
this deck is pretty good vs Rogue and Tempo Mage but it's bad vs control deck like warlock, big spell Mage, Druid and Priest
sometime it's easy win with good hand but sometime I have many card but can't play anyone.
I still stuck at rank 14-12 after about 30 games. Maybe it only works at lower rank :)
I like the concept, but it simply doesn't work for me (around 2-10; this post is meant to be constructive and not salty).
I'm used to play hunter as midrange (my first golden hero) and I got 3 problems with this deck right now:
- it does not curve out smoothly (no turn 1 for example), so any aggro deck gets a headstart
- most of the cards combo with other cards, but I got a mix of everything on my hand, so I can't combo when needed (like "trigger deathrattle" + secrets. Or spells + roc or defender). I have to rely on topdecking since it got no card draw and the games are more or less decided around turn 7-8.
- Aggro decks are steamrolling too fast (pala + rogue), control (especially cubelock) does not break into sweat either; mage on the other hand was the easiest so far (I won vs 2 and had a very close defeat vs another one).
WTF? Is this another Troll-Deck from reddit? This is bad asf and one of the worst hunter decks ive seen this expansion.
Could Putricide work in this deck? I drafted him in Arena with a ton of secrets, and it got quite a lot of wins.
I hadn't even thought about it. You could try it if you want. Good luck.
No Kathrena? Seems like an obvious play. Sure it doesn't help against aggressive matchups, but it's incredible against just about everything else you could possibly imagine.
Edit: I guess it's possible that there aren't enough beasts to make it work.
I would love to try her if I had it but, in this current version your focus is on leveraging yours aggro minions and your powerful deathrattles to make it difficult for you opponent to clear. I think there are enough beasts for it to work but it doesn't really fit the theme of the deck.
The deck seems pretty funny but is really dependent on draw. Im 1/3 on the deck right now, the 1 i won was pretty easy with a lot of lucky draws, but the other 4 i got literally smashed, couldnt stand a chance got really unluck with the card draw.
This deck plays poorly, unless you draw the nuts.
Half the time you get stuck with Carnivorous Cube with nothing to copy, Play Dead with nothing to trigger, Devilsaur Egg without taunt or a triggering card, Nesting Roc without creatures on the board.
If you consider playing this, prepare to lose to your own deck most of the time.
I had a quest play 30 Hunter cards, and have not play Hunter for some time. So I decided to give this a go.
Finished 5-1.
1st 3 opponents conceded after some combos (1 Midrange Hunter, 1 Aggro Hunter and Mage) another 2 was again Hunter and Mage and at the end I lost against Priest, but only because he stole my secret, otherwise it was close.
Can't say how it performs against other classes, but for the quest it served me well, and I was gone from 14-12-2 stars.
Fun deck to play in any case.

I decided to take a slightly more aggressive route with the deck in this aggressive meta and -2 Defender of Argus and +2 Sneaky Devil
So far seems to be working fine for me, great deck.
Seen it in action and wanna try it myself :)
