Inspired by Koyuki.
Cards you can switch out/trade with others:
1x Stampeding Kodo = Harrison Jones.
1x Black Knight = Sunwalker. (but ofc it makes the deck weaker)
1x Sylvannas = Sunwalker. (same as TBK)
1x Acolyte = Defender of Argus (depens on how you prefer your card drawing)
Setup:
Always keep 1 Zombie Chow in your starting hand. It's good against other control deck's, because you can push them a little. Also, and especially, against aggro. Nice for trading.
In the late game you should be great in controle due to your card draw and heavy board clearing combo cards. (if necessary)
Currently at Rank 5 with this deck. I rushed down with only a few losses, good and high winrate.
Feel free to criticise, make suggestions or other possible trades.
How about putting Deathlord in the deck it will help the early game greatly against aggro decks and if they do get something good you can always peacekeeper or humility it
Hey mate thanks for the deck i see a lot of paladin decks and a lot of them have Kel'thuzad . What are you think about Kel'thuzad in this deck ?
With swapping Kel-frickin-thuzad in this deck you must swap out other cards too. It's too heavy otherwise. Usually you win when you're in control in late game and still got a good hand (reserve) - so no need for him. Make this deck a little more aggressive and he'll definitely find a place.^^
Control Pally not known for its draw power, you have Lay on Hands and Acolyte and that's about it. Most decks cut Drakes because 4/4 doesn't trade well with other minions at 5 mana anymore.
I'm pretty positive Koyuki was playing Onyxia in his pally deck.
Edit: Apologies didn't realize this deck was just inspired by Koyuki's deck, not the actual deck :)
Tournemant deck, horrible on ladder. Weak vs. hunter and priest.
Not at all. I'm close to legend although I can't play that much due to work.
With a good start Hunter's aren't difficult. potherwise it get's hard for EVERY hero. Same vs priest. Have control asap. ;)
I think she doesn't fit in this deck. Tough minion but the battlecry isn't that much of a help. You've got plenty of heal in this deck.
Against your opponent it's not that useful, because you won't finish him "miracle-style." like garrosh, leeroy or other combos.
Yup, he's a little bit more aggressive but can often give you the final blow. Just keep in mind that he's overall not as good as Ysera in this deck. Big Game Hunter and Shadow Word: Death are most likely to kill him immediatly.
I just started trying this deck today and replaced Cairne and TBK because I don't have them yet. Anyways, it's been fun so far and fairly successful so far, so thanks for this!
I am just wondering if you have other tips for playing this deck. I'm finding myself constantly with a lot of options and don't know what play to make. To add a couple more specific questions, I guess, what is the idea/strategy behind this deck (should I be trying to make a bunch of soldiers until late game)? When should I play the big minions vs holding on to them? What cards should I mulligan for besides Zombie Chow? What kind of things should I be using my Humilitys and Adlors on?
The strategy is simple: Having your opponent asap in total control. You just have to see for yourself what deck your opponent ist using you're playing. Rush, Control, Combo, etc. Don't play too many minions. You have many big ones. For example, don't play Tirion when you already have an Ysera.. but there are a few exceptions. No other minions on hand, not in control, no "good" board. Just avoid playing all your legendaries or all your fatties as fast as you can. Always try to keep one in your backhand.
The Aldors or Humility can be used quite early. Again, look who you're playing against. For example: Against a handlock I would always keep one/two for the giants. Don't use them on the drakes. Except you have a great hand and can rush him for certain.
Against zoo/rushdecks. Keep one for the fattys. (Doomguard etc)
For the mulligan: I guess everythings good as long as it's: Chow, Aldor, Acolyte, Pyromancer, Owl, Truesilver, Consecration... against a warlock I'll always keep one consecration. Or Pyromancer + equality.
Thanks!
Try it out. But I think Raggy will slow down the deck too much. It's already not quite the fast play if you miss a good starting hand, which is important ofc.
For the acolytes.. I disagree. I got great value from them, but it's bad if you get them in the late/end game. So one is also enough. Atm I'm playing 1 defender. Made the difference a few times now against rush decks. :)
Looks really solid, only thing I would consider is another lay on hands, I just really like that card it closes out gaps in games that you might end up losing, and you draw 3. If you wouldnt mind check out my deck I posted most recently. http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/103174-malygos-ramp-a-warlock-control-deck-card-choice
LOH is great, yeah. But I won't even consider it running twice in a deck. 8 mana is too heavy. If you don't benefit from the one in the late game, you pretty much are already doomed.
Your deck looks nice, didn't see that before. But I guess it depends a little too much on luck. Worth a try though.
