TIRED OF LOSING TO AGGRO? CHECK OUT MY BIG TEMPO CONTROL MAGE HERE

Hi guys,

My name is Vincent, I've been playing HS since bèta and have always tried to keep up with the pro's. I have never before made a deck review, but since this deck works so well and is a lot of fun to play I wanted to share it with you guys. I hope you'll enjoy this deck!

Aluneth Tempomage with a twist!
I first tried playing this deck with 2 Sorcerers Apprentice, an extra Firelands Portal and a Counterspell.
I felt it was a bit too easy to decipher the secrets since there's only 2. Even worse, 2 the same secrets don't let you lower the cost of the 2 Kabal Crystal Runner fast enough to get the tempo from them.

I changed the card named above for these; Harrison Jones, Spellbreaker, Mirror Entity and Spellbender.
With the secrets spread out like this you will almost always be able to play a secret you draw. And thus also lowering the cost of the Kabal Crystal Runner.

I also felt the deck lost pretty hard to most control style Warlocks and Warriors, that's why I added 602 [/card]and [card]42. They really improved my winrate.

Read the comments for extra tips!

Warlocks get slowed down alot because they need to spend valuable mana in a tempo matchup. You also force them to discard cards when playing Doomguard.
And the draw is really nice to find those fireballs to finish them off.

Warrior still is a hard matchup but I feel you have a better chance to turn the game in your favor. You probably won't face a lot of Warriors anyway.

Low quality mulligan guide:

Low quality mulligan guide

VS. pretty much every deck always keep the following cards;

Kabal Lackey (If you have a Secret) Watch out for The Coin aka Counterspell Sadface
Mana Wyrm
Arcanologist
Primordial Glyph
Medivh's Valet (it's a decent 2-drop)
Kirin Tor Mage (If you have a Secret) Watch out for The Coin aka Counterspell Sadface

VS. Control

Keep all of the above and 602 [/card]or [card]73321 (depending on the opponent), draw is your biggest friend.

You usually win by slowly getting a board advantage and in the end dropping your 5/5's and play a secret that counters your opponents expected play. And smash them in the face!
(Primordial Glyph can get you some crazy good secrets too!)
If that doesn't work you're probably blasting them in the face with Fireballs and Frostbolts. (Again don't forget the Primordial Glyph here).

To play the deck well you have to find out what your opponent's plan is going to be, You find a way to counter that and build your own wincondition!
