I've been having success with this deck so far. Reached rank 9 from rank 15 with this deck, and still climbing! Having great success over Priests and Warlocks on the ladder. I'm still experimenting with this deck so this is not the final version. I would recommend you to replace for the Feral Spirit with Earth Elemental, i can't so that since I'm a f2p player and don't have Earth Elemental in my collection :( . But I'm sure putting them will give you higher win rate, specially against aggro deck which I seem to struggle against.
The combo is very simple, Upgrade your spellstone to max, reduce the cost of Frost Giant to zero, on turn ten (without any overloaded mana crystal), play the Frost Giant, give it Ancestral Spirit, summon the copies with the fully upgraded Lesser Sapphire Spellstone, win the game !
Priest will not able to remove the giants in one turn, Warlocks will have quite a few taunts, but will be easy to clear. All you need to do is survive till you have all the combo pieces, play the combo, and win the game ! Aggro decks will be tough to win against if you don't get Volcano Maelstrom Portal or storm lightning. It will be much more winnable with Earth Elemental against aggro decks, so please replace them with Feral Spirit if you have them.
If I get 50 upvotes, will definitely upload the mulligan and strategy guide !
WOW... Don't think i have lost that many games in a row before...
Another meta another place
Check out my deck with the same gameplan! I highly recommend Guild Recruiter. Looking forward to your thoughts. The link: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1009969-giant-shaman-negative-winrate
I've tried this deck with Guild Recruiter, didn't find any success. This deck desperately requires survival cards such as Healing raint, Volcano, etc. therefore it is very hard to find a place for Recruiters. Nice deck though!
I'm lacking -2 Healing Rain so I've replaced it, temporarily, with +2 Tidal Surge in the meantime. If that doesn't work out, I'll try +2 Jinyu Waterspeaker for targeted healing and overload. (Ovl going into turn 5 though will be rough, but my options are otherwise limited.)
e: I also feel like a deck like this is just begging for Earth Elementals somewhere in its list, but I can't figure out what to cut for them. Any recommendations?
As stated above, you can try cutting both the Feral Spirit for Earth Elemental.
Gonna try this.
Awesome deck, mate! Here's my version of the same tactic :)
So much fun, right?
This seems much closer to the Day9 version of the deck he played a month ago or so. I'm quite fond of this variety, but not so keen on the stonehill defenders. What would you feel are the replacement options for it?
Priest could Psychic Scream and ruin your day, just puttin' it out there. But I like the idea!
Yeah Psychic Scream can really ruin the setup, it's run only in highlander Priest, have faced it once! But don't worry it'll put 4 giants back to your deck, which you can draw again and then play the combo again using second spellstone, thankfully they only have 1 copy of Psychic Scream, and you will still win the game!
Still diggin' the deck, as well as the idea; though my hearthstone experience appears to revolve around murphy's law; issue I keep having is getting to the last 3-5 cards of my deck...and STILL not having drawn either of the spellstones. The bad luck of it is incredible. =(
In other news, played a shaman using Lightwarden with Ancestral Spirit and Healing Rain; was a hilariously fantastic idea that reminded me of the satisfaction level of this deck when it all came together properly.
Looks nice, but i think Eternal Sentinel and Hallazeal the Ascended could be helpful additions to the deck?
Edit: Also Far Sight and a second Devolve are a must i think
I don't have these cards! But I think that Hallazeal the Ascended can be replaced with one of the Hot Spring Guardian. Don't really think that Eternal Sentinel is a good inclusion because usually this deck will overload 2-3 mana crystals so paying 2 mana to remove 2-3 is not worth i guess, also I don't really find any room for Eternal Sentinel. And I don't really find any room for second Devolve as well since other cards are essential for the survival, and devolve doesn't really remove anything from the board (it just transforms them!), plus there are a lot of Corridor Creeper on ladder, which cost 7 mana, devolving that would give your opponent a random 6 drop which can be better than the 5/5 body it already has. You can destroy small minions using Lightning Storm or Maelstrom Portal, so devolve doesn't really help, also a lot of decks are using BIG archetype so devolving big minions isn't really efficient! Therefore one Devolve is sufficient in this deck. Far Sight is a really good card to add in this deck, and can be replaced with Mana Tide Totem, since they usually draw you one card anyway, but then again I don't have Far Sight so I can't really experiment with it :P.
