Hard Counters Jade Idol and destroys Earthen Scales to boot. Also might be problematic for evolve shaman if shaman didn't use Evolve yet. Counters Inner Fire combo priest
Also prevents some other 2-card interactions that depend on 1 cost spells, which is not a central piece of the deck, but might be annoying.
Can even be utilized to remove your own early game cards in later stages of the game to improve draw (that is if you haven't drawn you 1-cost spells yet)...
Well, I guess this card was a necessary evil. It beats Jade Druid, but it also beats most OTK decks out there (Inner Fire priest, Malygos anything, etc)
Malygos did nothing wrong.
It really doesn't beat a properly built Malygos deck, though. Most of them use either 0 or 2 cost spells to win and it's not like those three classes don't have additional ways of beating you down (Doomhammer + Rockbiter weapon, Leeroy Jenkins, and I'm not sure about druid.)
Also keep in mind that this is at most going to be a 1 of.
Fuck you Jade Idol!!!

Strong meta call, if a card to stop Jade is being printed it definitely means that the designers are pretty confident that the meta will shift to control, which is not hard to believe seeing how many anti-aggro tools are being released.
So this will most likely become the most controversial card of the expansion.
It's really not that game breaking. Think about it; what does this really give you against a deck that isn't Jade Druid? Control Warriors, Inner Fire Priests, and Secret Paladins are about the only things I can think of that this REALLY can be of use for. This is just what a strong tech card should look like.
Nobody (except for the decks I mentioned) wins or loses the game based on 1 mana spells after turn 6 which is likely the earliest you could play this, and you're likely only going to play 1 of, so it's not even a remote guarantee you'll play this EVERY game. Those decks will still exist if what they counter thrives in the meta enough; they just won't hard counter it nearly as bad as they used to.
Good against jade and agro druid.
Except by turn 6 the fate of the game vs aggro druid is already decided.
If Quest Hunter will ever take off... this is gonna stop it in its tracks xD Quest Hunter gonna be forever useless :(
Says spells bro, not minions. Hunter's 1-cost minions are all unaffected.
So here are the cards that will be affected in standard and wild before the set is released (by the time this post is made not all cards are revealed yet, so there might be 1-mana spells coming in the new set)

(Not mentioned here are the class quests which also all cost 1 mana. There are games where you have chosen to
shuffle your quest in the deck, especially when you only face fast aggro decks and don't have The Coin.
This is very meta depending, though.)
So we know what archetypes would be affected for this meta, but when the set is released, we will see new deck archetypes (like frost shaman) and those might want to play Frost Shock. I think besides Jade Druid, the class (not the archetype) that suffers the most from Skulking Geist is Paladin: loosing all secrets is bad in wild for Mysterious Challenger decks and some good buff cards makes also quest paladin worse.
There are not much cards in the game which have a huge impact on the meta. This is one of them.
Nice work compiling these for us lazy peons, thanks ;)
This card might make it as a tech card because if stopping Shaman from evolving, Paladin from using Secrets gained from murlocs AND destroying Jade Druid is not enough, it can also destroy some fringe cards like activators for Antonidas, toxins from Xaril and more for Rogue, etc. All in all, I like this one even if it destroys or considerably hinders Inner Fire Priest
Jade is dead :o
same Arts from Original Warcraft TCG. ( a paladin card)
Funny how a simple rotation can change the entire pose of a card
Goodbye,
