SImply insane. Very powerfull tempo card, good for Zoolock and Mindrange decks. This card will also be stupidly insane in arena.
Why would anyone play Zoolock? Zoolock is no good at all
I feel like it might be broken as a beast... But why isn't this a beast exactly? We have Bone drake and Sindragosa, both bone dragons that are considered dragons. While this bone horse isn't a beast, because...? I understand it might be a bit more broken that way, but logically it makes no sense why the bone dragons are still dragons, but this bone beast isn't still a beast.
If they didn't want it to be a beast it could have just as easily been something else that makes a bit more sense. Like a Bone Enforcer or something that throws your buddy a shield instead of a horse that gives taunt somehow.
Just nit picking an otherwise good card though.
I feel like people are overvaluing this card a ton, many are comparing it to Dr. Boom because it's supposedly OP in the 7 mana slot while in reality it's actually a slow situational card that's just a dead draw before turn 7. Dr. Boom and other 'Docturns' (Sylvanas, Ragnaros, Spikeridged Steed, Piloted Shredder, Zombie Chow, Mysterious Challenger and Ysera) were insane because they almost always traded 2 for 1 card, if not more when the card was ignored. This card isn't overpowered enough where Sylvanas can kill a minion and after that take another minion, where Dr. Boom could deal 2-8 damage after being a 9/9, where Ragnaros would always deal 8 damage. Sure: the stats are spread out, but there's no reason your opponent can't just trade into it or use spells to remove it, after that the card has done nothing but use up maybe 1 or 2 pieces of removal for the 5/5 and the buffed token while losing you out on a lot of tempo.
And even if this card was good, many people say it's insane because you can run two in your deck, wow amazing! You have double the chance of getting it out on turn 7, right? Well, sure it's good to have a bigger chance to play it on turn 7 every time but you don't really want to play off-curve when it comes to a value-based match in which this card would find its place. I highly doubt that past week 2 of KotFT this card will see much if any play.
You're comparing the most broken legendaries which are unplayable in standard with a common card which is almost as good. I don't know if you play arena, but the first player to play this horse will usually win. Let's say there's turn 6 ogre vs ogre, player 1 uses Bonemare and trades for free, now there's a 10/5 taunt and a 5/5 against you on turn 7, what do you do? Also the card is toxic because now you have to fear that every 1/1 token left on board can instantly become a 5/5 taunt. People always removed all paladin's minions because of BoK or Dinosize, now you have to remove every classes minions instead of playing for next turn lethal.
I feel like this could really well be the dark horse of this set.
I know I'm late, but i had to compliment this brilliant comment.
Blessing of Kings for everyone, now with taunt and a 3 mana 5/5 body.
Ok, in arena - totally broken, BUT this card is good even out of arena, sure there are better cards for 7 mana spot BUT if the meta will slow down (and I honestly think it will) then this card can see play even out of arena in constructed, its kinda non paladin spikeguard steed, less defensive but much more offensive AND on 5/5 body so in battle of midrange/controll decks it can be a thing, who knows for sure?
So Busted for SC Rogue 1 9/9 and taunt
what does SC rogue mean?
Shadowcaster
Hmm.. Let's see. 4/4 is worth 4 mana. 5/5 body worth 4.5 mana. = 8.5 mana and this card for 7 mana.
= WORTH it. Good card!
Forgot about 0.5 mana worth Taunt ^-^
That's just talking about value, the actual immediate effect is pretty weak considering damage removal or hard removal the turn after completely nullifies the effect, leaving you with just a 5/5.
This is Blessing of Kings with an added 5/5 for an additional 3 mana -- that can be cast on an empty board for just the 5/5.
Or a spell that summons a 4/4 void terror that eats a minion and gains charge and taunt, summoning a 5/5.
I mean:
It is practically:
Void Breaker:
Taunt
Charge
Battlecry: Summon a 5/5 skeleton horse, then destroy target friendly minion (and gain it's attack and health, divine shield, lifesteal, deathrattles, active effects and card text), or destroy Void Breaker.
4/4
...
Which almost is functionally the same.
If you attacked with buffed minion, you already gained 4 damage worth of value, about 2 mana tempo wise; if your opponent spends about 3 mana and a card to remove buffed minion that's even more tempo gain, and now he has to spend more mana and/or cards to remove 5/5.
This card makes any 1-2 cost minion relevant. Even Northshire Cleric could become 5/7 taunt. A simple shaman totem can now become 4/6 (or 5/5) taunt. I like it.
Good budget deck card. I can see this being played a little bit.
i scared. i think this card OP. 7 mana 9/9 and faster.
bonemare nerf please.
new 7 mana disaster after dr.boom.
