The trick to this deathrattle is to bluff. If they have a board they are expecting you to choose the AoE, and won't trade into it. Allowing you to play minions next turn and then trade giving you the buff. Same goes the opposite way. If you have a board, they will want to trade first, then kill this guy, expecting the buff. But then the AoE you actually chose will kill the damaged minions from all of their pointless trading. I like the new mechanic, hope we get a few other cards with new choose one effects.

You don't get how to use this card. Most of the Hearthstone playerbase is very casual (bad) and will always use the card like you said and expect others to do the same. Since you're hardly ever playing versus the same player twice, it's really easy to use the card in the opposite way one expects and let the opponent set it up in the way that actually benefits you the most. It's amazing card design and it really enables some much needed mind games.

Has this been featured from a card competition before? What it was? (No offense just want to know if this has ever been thought of)

Battlecries only work when the card is played from hand. So it will just be a 5/3 minion.

Choose one aren't technically a battlecry but work similar yes

It is a good card due its boardclear effect which Druids seriously lack. But secret deathrattle is kinda meaningless. If you are leading the game, you choose +2/+2 effect, if you are behind, you choose boardclear. Definitely it will be used in almost every Druid deck.

The secret mechanic isn't much of a secret.

The only situation i think +2/+2 is picked over board clear is when you are ahead on board or are planning to fill your board next turn with minions.

There's also clearing your opponents' board and then setting this up to clear it again.

Hold up. Give them +2/+2? All of them, including opponents? If so this might just drop to 3.5 stars cause everyone knows what you're going to pick.

What about fandral?

If i'm not wrong, if you play this while Fandral Staghelm on board, this card gets both of them. Gives minions +2/+2 and deals 3 damage of them.

If it's not kill them, will be same effect like Cruel Taskmaster and Inner Fire Kappa

Wait, is this a battlecry effect or a deathrattle effect? You'd think a battlecry, as all the other Choose One cards are, but then if this minion is summoned then would it get a deathrattle at all?
