While I agree Discard Warlock needs a bit of work still, this is at least a step in the right direction. Discard Warlock is supposed to be a high risk, high reward, mechanic. What they are lacking is a couple more cards that make you want to discard them, like Silverware Golem and Clutchmother Zavas. The most powerful part about this card is the lifesteal though, and I feel like people are really underrating that mechanic, especially in Warlock which needs healing to synergize with your hero power. Even getting 3 to 6 health back off of this guy is comparable to Priest of the Feast. And 6 health is actually hard to deal with in spells alone without wasting at least 2 or running a minion in.
This card is... somehow ok. but lets say you draw it early, then you cant play it before you discarded some other cards.. while the chance that you drop this card before you can even play it is somehow high.... Means it is somehow a dead card.
i dont really think that this card is strong enoth to make it into *strong* decks. Why? Discard is more based on card draw/discover, discard and cheep minions to make sure you discard the card that you want to discard.
We could argue that it is a step into the lategame that makes the quest portal stronger.. but i dont really see it so far
I liked BQ in ICC, such a shame that she has no lifesteal/buff mechanics. I enjoyed playing quest lock for some time but without cards that will create cards designated to be discarded, like some 1/1 imp with text "always discard it first" created by other card, this mechanic won't be so cool because we simply can't predict if we have ANY win condition.
well legendary that would make you choose cards to discard is stupid but it would atrleast make disczoo more consistent
After I though a bit what a good warlock vanilla + lifesteal card should be, this card seems even more trash.
I would value lifesteal at about 0.5 mana, even in warlock which benefits a ton from healing. Why? In constructed it's probably not as good as a battlecry heal because on average you'll probably get only one healing proc and then the minion gets removed (unless it's some super evasive minion). The bad thing is, sometimes it won't even trigger once if it gets removed by a spell or the opponent can just swing for lethal.
With all that in consideration, I wouldn't call it far fetched to say that something like a 3 mana 3-4 lifesteal or 4 mana 3-6 lifesteal would be just right in warlock. Compare it to earthen ring farseer which is 3 mana 3-3 heal 3 but the heal is guaranteed. Also compare the second one to jinyu waterspeaker or priest of the feast, both are more potent than 4 mana 3-6 lifesteal AND they're in classes that don't need healing as desperately as warlock.
Naturally I come to the conclusion that blood queen, with being about 5 mana 3-6 lifesteal on average and requiring you to play discard which is a very bad mechanic for midrange/control, is a steaming pile of shit. Unless they print some ridiculous stuff for discard synergy, I am severely disappointed with this card.
The sad part is that if it had Taunt it would actually be playable.
They killed Warlock again, apparently Blizzard hates them or doesn't get any feedback from the meta played the last months (where warlock is almost never used, and discardlock is actually never used).

What if Blizzard makes discard not random and you always pick what to discard?
That would make the Clutchmother Zavas from Un'Goro and Silverware Golem just a little op. Discarding is supposed to be a penalty that can turn into a boon with chance. If you could choose which card to discard it would negate the penalty.
i agree because in other card games you discard you choose what to discard, Ie. Magic the gathering. it wouldn't make it really op like mages are right now with how high value, and cards that deny death for two turns to kill you. The thing that blizz would need to do is make warlocks able to either control again with a deck like hand lock by giving healing, or making discard/zoo able to work in standard since it is dead without either.
That would make the Clutchmother Zavas from Un'Goro and Silverware Golem just a little op. Discarding is supposed to be a penalty that can turn into a boon with chance. If you could choose which card to discard it would negate the penalty.
1st turn: Soulfire, discard Zavas, 4 dmg to enemies face without penalty (possible now but only a 33% chance)
2nd turn: Summon Succubus, discard Zavas, you get a 4/3 for (2) without a penalty (again a possibility of 33% since you redrew another card, cumulative probability 10.89%)
3rd turn: [blanc] Hero Power or something like that also use succubus to clear whatever the enemy came up with
4th turn: In one of the preceding turns you drew the Silverware Golem, Summon Felhound, discard Golem and Zavas (probabilty for discarding two particular cards out of the three or four cards on your hand -depending on whether you used your Hero Power- is 16.5 or 8.25 %, cumulative 1.796% or 0.898%) you are left with a field of Succubus 4/3 (although damaged), Felhound 3/8 Taunt and a Golem 3/3 on turn 4, with a Clutchmother 8/8 (2) on your hand to play at leisure.
Now I know that this scenario is purely hypothetical and very unlikely to happen but if you could choose which cards to redraw it would break the meta in scenarios as these. I know Blizzard has to do something to get the Warlock back into the meta but I don't think chooseable discards are the way to go, or at least only in the shape of single cards with effects like "Battlecry: Choose 1 card to discard" which would still have brutal synergies with the Silverware Golem or Clutchmother Zara.
card is so bad that I just clicked to see if hearthpwn gave it a page.
Are you serious? Discard for +1 attack? if you can make the cost at least 3 mana and remove the lifesteal like a discard Darkshire Councilman them it would saw play (hell even with the lifesteal 3 mana 1/5 with an effect is pretty good) but its just not worth it make it a 3/5 or maybe +2/+2 on the card them it would have so much potential but right now it feels like a worse Bolvar Fordragon
This feels like another version of Bolvar Fordragon, and just like Bolvar even if it has a high attack it will probably die right away to hard removal. However unlike Bolvar, you'll be losing a lot more by constantly discarding then you would by just getting your minions killed.
There's a big difference in that Bolvar needs to be in your hand to be buffed while this is buffed for the whole game. There is a decent chance it will be killed by hard removal, yes, but that's hard removal used on a 5 mana minion that keeps your higher mana minions safe. If you discard 6 cards, enough to complete the warlock quest, this is a 5 mana 7/6 with life steal which is pretty awesome. If you discard 3, just a doomguard and a soulfire, then it's a 5 mana 4/6 with lifesteal which is already decent too, so if you put it in a deck designed for discard synergies with Clutchmother Zavas, Malchezzar's Imp and Silverware Golems then I think it could work well enough, and chances are there are more discard synergies coming trough, possibly with the DK hero.
Discarding 1 card gives it +1 attack? #worthwhiletradeoff
I dont want to play fucking discard! Who came up with this BS? They are scared of control warlock thats why they keep creating these useless legendaries for him.
