Checkmate Blizzard!
Love him in arena <3.
Ha, this guy's toast.
Is it just me or the Phoenix looks like it's ripped off from Kael's artwork and slapped into a different background?? Lol.
And druid can't have a 2/4 deal 2 damage. Blizzard please
Are u serious?
Keeper of the Grove was nerfed because blizzard wanted to remove silence from the meta, not because of damage
I already feel the need for a Golden copy of this card...
Hey, a Chtun panda...with a Divine Strength glued to it
Neutral SI:7 Agent.
I think it will be played in constructed in elemental decks. Immediate impact, decent body
The words you are looking for is strictly better, but yeah, this shows Blizzard admits Stormpike is shit.
It's not strictly better though, because a 4/2 stat line isn't strictly worse or equal to 3/3. Also, if it were strictly better, his use of power creep would be correct.
Um, a 4/2 is strictly worse than a 3/3 when it costs an additional mana...
It is certainly worse, but not strictly worse. Strictly worse means that it is definitively and provably worse, that in every scenario it will be worse. You cannot say that for a 4/2 vs 3/3 statline.
Why would this show blizzard admits it when they never disagreed that its okay for some cards to be better than others?
Power creep is inevitable in a card game and that's why they implemented standard cycle. Existing cards should not set the ceiling or limit the design space. it should not be "okay so this card exists so no cards with this effect should be stronger than this card" when that card just simply suck.
No,
Not buffing the underpowered cards and just printing better ones over time was the design choice made clear by the devs and they explained it time and time again. It's one of my complaints too but I can see that they have their reasons:
1. It is more profitable for them to sell new, better cards than buffing the old ones that everyone already has.
2. No matter how much they raise the bottom tier of the cards, there's always going to be cards that does not see play. You want them to buff stormpike commando to 4 or even 3 mana? Then yes it will see play but that means some cards will be taken out of meta because of it. And they still have to print slightly better cards than that so it only speeds up the power creeping process.
3. They already have like 15 pack fillers in every expansion. What will they do if they can't just print better versions of older cards?
In the end, Blizz is game company that's trying to earn profit. I gave up on hoping they might buff cards like dalaran mage long time ago.
Yeah, you are certainly right, especially about point 1, but it's the fact they don't admit it that pisses me off. If they really cared about balance over profit they would simply buff Frostwolf Grunt to a 3/2 and make pompous thespian a 2/2 taunt can't be targeted by spells, or give magma rager, battlecry deal 2 damage to a random enemy or Booty Bay Bodyguard +1 health and Pirate tag so they wouldnt be strictly worse at least. But I agree with you in most aspects of what blizzard is thinking, just wish they were honest.
Ironforge Rifleman with +1/+1 and +1 damage and +1 cost and elemental
