Yo dawg, I heard you like Overload...
Ok so, rogue, check, paladin, check, warrior and shaman get one of these too now check, well i'm expecting the brawl where we get full discover a card cards that aren't raven idol or a minion, for the druid one it can be a spell with the effect of discover a choose effect card XD.
Hearthstone Community is SHITTY. No one seems to think that NEW KIND OF DECKS can be made. It seems an utopia to most players, they undervalue cards, decks and classes until they get wrecked by them. I remember what happened when WoG was released: Shaman wasn't called cancer because C'Thun Druid was overhyped and "cancerous", bla bla bla. Everyone seems to value things AFTER they get exposed because NO ONE HAS FUCKING LONG-TERM VISION in this game. Did someone expect Token Druid or Maly Druid (Control-ish decks) to be strong after WoG and Kharazan? Nope, no one. Just an example.
SO, SPEAKING ABOUT THIS CARD: obviously it's NOT a card you want to play in Aggro or Midrange Shaman. It's a fucking obvious thing. But does this mean it's a bad card? Obviously not. This card is clearly designed for Control Shaman (like the new Shaman Legendary) because you can discover removal or board presence, according to your needs. It's not a card to play on turn 1 so it's almost trash for aggro and midrange, but Control Shaman doesn't to anything on turn 1 and 2 so this card fits perfectly IF you want to play this on turn 1. You don't want this because it's a card that searches for tools and answers: Jeweled Scarab is a similiar card that saw play in control shaman for the chance to get the good 3 mana shaman cards, aka what this card exactly does. Except for 1 thing: there are a few overload cards, and only a few of them are bad by themselves. Some are good but not enough to be worth the room in your deck. This card discovers what you need in a critical turn, so it's good for Control Shaman. Who cares for Overload in Control Shaman? Remember that Control plays ELEMENTAL DESTRUCTION (5 overload) and Lava Shock.
You guys are really saying Pay 1, find Elemental Destruction, Lightning Storm, or even a Forked Lightning is bad?!?
Feral Spirit, Doomhammer, Lava Burst, Crackle, not to mention FwF or Earth Elemental! The only three cards you DON'T want to see on this thing are Dust Devil, Stormforged Axe, or Siltfin Spiritwalker. Everything else is amazing.
Hell, I'm glad White Eyes DOESN'T have Overload now.
technically your paying 2 not 1.
Well on turn 1 this card effectively is 2 mana as it stops you very hard on doing things turn 2 as you will have only 1 mana
I'm stating why this is 2 mana. As if it didn't have overload this is an easy play on turn 1 if you don't have a different 1 drop. As on turn 4 getting a 7/7 out even with the overload 2 is way different as it's a 7/7 on the board on turn 4 as compared to turn 6/7 much like totem golem except less in it's effect.
Yea cool and my statement was on turn 1 this 2 mana. Nothing wrong there. It doesn't matter if this is better to be played later. On turn 1 it is 2 mana.
There are three mechanics that should not even exhist, in my opinion:
Overload
Discard a card
Destroy a mana crystal / give your opponent a mana crystal
I feel terrible when I play cards like these, it's just not worth it most of times.
So this is Raven Idol for Shamans but strictly worse...
what the fuck is the point of this?
You know what saying "infinite value", this is like the reverse of that. You're paying overload fee to discover something with more overload lol, does Blizzard think this is a game!?
Well, this IS a game :D
Where is that Lava Burst? Or Crackle in Wild?
should be 0 mana 1 overload
I kinda like the card art on this. It kinda reminds me Studio Ghibli art style for some reason.
