oh come on! this card is so fun :D can't wait to use it on e.g. tempo mage or even another shaman with their troggs buffed :D
ps. it can be good shaman counter card :D imagine their overload cards are devolved... :D
ps2. notice how many new battlecry cards will be added with this expansion
Devolving 5-drop into Flamewreathed Faceless FeelsGoodMan
Purify part 2
So i opened up the site, saw this card, laughed, said to myself "wow so bad, bu kinda funny, 0% chance of constructed of course" and then saw the comments and i see the majority calling it op while the ones that recognize it as a trash card downvoted.
So can someone tell me a way in wich this is a good card? im curious. And no, i wont pay 2 mana and a card to to silence a sylvanas, no, this is not in any way a zoo or N'zoth counter, it does almost nothing against them and maelstrom is a million times better against zoo, this thing is only good against concealed auctioneer.....
I think you are wrong bro... N'Zoth Warrior is a bad matchup for Shaman... so now they have Hex and Devolve to completely nulify N'Zoth´s effect, or ttransforming minions before killing them or transformiing them after they get out with N'Zoth.
At least, N'Zoth will become a 9-mana minion like Ysera or Soggoth.
The current meta/op deck is not an excuse, if the meta changes, why would not this card become better? What if we see an OP Shaman control deck?
The direct comparison for this card is Mass Dispel. True, you draw 1 card whith this card, but the new one will downgrade your minions 95% of the time.
If the full tempo meta ends, I don´t see reasons to don´t run a control decklist against other decks like Jade Golem Druid or Dragon Priest (Speculation yeh), cards like Hallazeal the Ascended, The Mistcaller, Flamewreathed Faceless, Elemental Destruction, Healing Wave or Earth Elemental are only few examples of the Shaman pool than can be used in a control decklist.
To sum up, I don´t think this card is good right NOW, but it can be so OP in the future, time will clear the fog about the utility of the card
But how about the RNG goodness it will bring?
Also not all players play constructed competitively. Some play it for the LULS and this is a LULS card so it will have greater than 0% chance in constructed.
I think you're right in saying that. I think it will serve as one of those cards that gets on hearthstone funny moments youtube channels for it screwing over the player. Otherwise it will play a very niche role in decks.
It absolutely wrecks paladin handbuff cards, anykind of buff cards, destroys taunts, deathrattles. Last game midrange shaman plays something turn 2, wolves turn 3, flametongue turn 4 and feels good about himself only to find himself with some sad tinyfuns turn 5.
I don't think it is totally unbalanced because this card has no place for mid shaman deck, just imagine: ya mid shaman and your hand is storm, storm, portal, portal, hex and devolve. Devolve is unplayable for mid shaman, but it is should be very good for control shaman decks.
I agree with you but I realize making reasonable arguments here just get down voted by rank 15 players who think witch doctor was an awesome card. I have posted my comment on this card yesterday only to have it down voted with no valid counter argument other than... Lul you wasted 2 mana, you're a retard.
original post #128
"This card sucks. will not see competitive play. You can devolve a rag or tirion to give them another insane 7 drop but they're still threats on board. Even against zoo, you still leave them minions on board to attack you. You just wasted mana to hopefully negate some damage and messed up your curve. Shaman have a very tight 30 card deck slot. This won't make the cut. If you want to deal with big minions, just play your hex(s). If you want to deal with minion floods, you have 2 maelstorms and lightning storms. "
To add onto your post, I don't think it's playable even in control shaman. i rather have board clears than downgrades. Elemental destruction works better. :)
Maybe, you're right, but still in most cases control shaman waste him removals before your opponent use n'zoth or cards like this and elemental destruction doesn't clear the board. So, card useless in current meta, but if in new meta n'zoth decks will be tier 1 , i think we will maybe see some play. Also buff for Yogg saron, Kappa.
yeah. You still have hex for the important n'zoth minions. so even if they n'zoth, it won't be a strong board. I predict the new meta will be a faster meta with pallys and hunters. could have a very fast aggro pally with 1 drops and refilling hand, or a hunter that plays on curve. Also want to add, if you want to play a control deck, warrior is still king, it's just better than control shaman 90% of the match ups and beats control shaman. I can't see control shaman anywhere near tier 1. Some players are sneaking in wins because of the surprise element and that people are mulligan for midrange shaman.
Cheers, happy thanks giving.
Poll needs an extra option - totally broken. Even putting aside the insane RNG aspect (as if we needed more cards that enable a dice roll to decide who wins) this is just insanely powerful as a silence effec. Even used on just a sylvannas or a Rag it'd present huge value but the fact it can hit a whole board is just crazy given the tools Shaman already had for both clearing and single target removal.
I had been on the fence about whether or not to give HS another chance when the next expansion comes out but I think these 2 cards are the tipping point for me as it's clear the balance team are only interested in having a select few classes be viable at any one time.
So how is this better than Hex against Sylv or Rag?
Also 'crazy given the tools Shaman already had' makes no sense. If a class already has really good tools, additional tools that do the same are actually less useful. Now if this was a warlock card or druid card, THAT would be op (if this card is actually that good, which remains to be seen). Giving a class tools it already has access to doesn't really break the class, it just increases their options. Are you really going to play 2 hex, 2 lighting storm, AND 2 of these? Maybe in control shaman, but that's not really a thing anyway, and they already have access to elemental destruction aswell. At best this replaces a hex or a lightning storm, which is just interchanging similar cards that aren't better or worse than each other, just some different niches.
I can really smell the saltiness from all the players will get their full boards downgraded to a Doomsayer
The nice one is you can actually devolve their doomsayer into something... well.. not so doomsaying, you know.
Anyone what their play testing looks like? I'd really like to know if they play more than one game with each new card.
this card isnt gonna see play, because essentialy theres still a board after you devolve
no it wont, the buffs wont be played a lot either. new doesent mean it gets played and becomes meta.
