I honestly wish this card would just disappear, it's just so horrible for the game in pretty much every aspect, a silver bullet against fatigue and control decks, which would cause people to play agro to combat it
honestly what were the devs thinking when they printed this
This should have had the effect "Choose One - Summon a Jade Golem; or Shuffle 3 Jade Golems into your deck." That way it isn't infinite value and doesn't destroy fatigue/mill decks.
It should be more than 3 jade golems. Jade Idol is the main way that I produce golems. And while I agree with you that it kills mill decks, I still think you should shuffle more than just 3 golems into your deck. The mana cost, of course, should scale with stats. This way I can't plop down 10+/10+ for 1 mana.
Clicked "+" button like 100 times, too bad it doesnt add +100 to this post. But i want so much.
Pretty amazing card. If a heavy control druid shell can be made, 1-2 Gadgetzan Auctioneers + this is certainly going to be a no-deck-left finisher. Play the Auctioneer, always play an Idol to get 3 more in your deck when you have none left, but otherwise play them as Jade Golems. Done with no cards left in your deck and no way to ramp past 10 (plus no Emp ticks - with either the Auctioneer or Idol having an Emp tick effectively allowing another Idol to be played), you're looking at 3 Idols in your deck at turns end, and 2 Golems plus the Auctioneer on board. Hell, you could play this in a deck with no other Golem synergy and it would still be a legitimate wincon. Any other golem synergy, and those first 2 you play when your deck first empties are going to be something like a 7/7 and 8/8, which is just insane when every 2 out of 3 turns after that - assuming the Auctioneer is killed - you're getting bigger and bigger golems. Can't complain about topdecking a 1 mana 9/9! Hell, if you just include Blackpaw and work a N'Zoth angle, you're looking at a 5/5 and 6/6 alongside that Auctioneer. Madness!
Then there's the fact that the Fandral deck is likely to stick around until at least rotation, and a hybrid shell between that and these new cards can very possibly be made.
Druid is one of the two classes that I have yet to golden-ize, and I'm very much looking forward to the prospect of getting my last ~100 wins with such a control deck.
Everyone says this card is the first to have infinite value... Malorne anyone?
This card only costs 1 mana
Nobody said it was the first. Or if they do, they're wrong. There's a lot of infinite value cards in the game already, like Shadowform, Tentacles for Arms, Charged Hammer's deathrattle, Dreadsteed, Anub'arak, or even Reinforce and The Silver Hand. But all of those are slow and often limited to one use per turn, and many can be removed through silence.
This card, however, is an incredibly cheap spell summoning evergrowing golems. You can play seven of them in one turn, you can combo with Gadgetzan Auctioneer without fearing to overcommit nor to go into fatigue. Your hand would still be full of 1 mana giants trading 1-for-nothing and quickly threatening lethal.
from a Control/Fatigue standpoint, I just can't believe such a card exists. It's as if Mind Spike got +1 dmg for every use. Dreadsteed +1 atk for every death... This isn't just infinite value, it's a growing threat that can't be removed, with auctioneer synergy and such a low cost that you can play it many times per turn.
If it was BATTLECRY - may be, also if it was 1 mana. Stop been stupid.
Oh I see what you're saying ;) ;) ;)
Good thinking (wink)
and they nerfed master of disguise because of design space. this is actually the first card that allows you to have infinite cards in your deck. and blizzard basically pushes all kind of fatigue decks out of the meta because of this single card.
Pretty sure no one has said anything about this + GOLDEN FUCKIN MONKEY
Max deck (60 cards) filled with jade idols, you play a few then play the gold monkey. LOL GG.
i think a 30/30 each turn is better than random legendarys
Dude fuck 30/30 dudes for 1 mana, i'd much rather have 60 Loremaster Cho's in my deck
1 way to fix this card without making it looks bad is to remove the "choose one" keyword and add a condition to the second effect to make it not that easy to activate, where your opponent CAN do something to stop it, something like this:
- Summon a Jade Golem, if you have more then 20 HP, shuffle one copy into your deck.
or
- Summon a Jade Golem, if your opponent have more then 5 cards in his hand, shuffle one copy into your deck.
Even if you only had the option to summon a Jade Golem this card would be really strong. Only the first Golem you summon would be bad value, but late game you can summon a 10/10 for 1 mana...
Thoughtsteal >:)
Gadgetzan Auctioneer + Sorcerer's Apprentice + this.
Infinite value.
