You do have a point. However, as turn 6 is about the point in the game where stats don't matter as much in the face of direct removal, I'd say that this has a better chance of fighting Jade Druids than Eater of Secrets did against Freeze Mages, since you feel less bad about running it (plus, it takes out Evolves and Inner Fires and stuff).
It doesn't, because jade druid (like all other druids) got a lot of powerful cards in this new expansion, like Ultimate Infestation (no more card draw problem, if they had any), Malfurion the Pestilent (even more armor for them), and Spreading Plague, which has proven to be a great tool against aggro decks. Geist only kills 50% of druid's strategy (Jade Idol and Earthen Scales), but they still win with remaining 50%.
I'm really starting think that even pirate warrior needs more decisions that jade druid.
This piece of crap is the reason why there is no Elise Starseeker or N'Zoth, the Corruptor anymore.
Okay, something NEEDS to happen with this card! After the release of Un'Goro Jade Druid wasn't played that much for like a couple of weeks but now it is back and it is stronger than ever. Cards like Earthen Scales and Primordial Drake made Jade Druid better than it was before. People avoid playing control because of this Deck and more because of Jade Idol (with the shuffling effect at the end of the game)
I do think that with nerfing Jade Idol Jade Druid can become more balanced but not to much that it will turn into a bad deck.
Do I wanna spend 20 mins of life and lose against this shit? No, thanks. I don't wanna play control as long as this card exist.
They really need to have the final Golem art show up at 10/10.
In all my time of playing Jade, I've never actually seen a 20/20 Jade Golem.
At that point, either the game is long over or the enemy has an almost unfathomable level of control and inability to end the game.
suggested nerf to Jade Idol, the original copies stay the same just the copies in your deck can only summon Jades and can't shuffle more copies
They should give it the Blizzard treatment and make it 5 mana just so it isn't an issue ever again.
I've been observing Jade decks closely recently. And they're really not broken. The real issue is this card. Without it, Jade Druid would not OP.
Worst card in all of hearthstone, even more problematic than Tunnel Trogg, dare I say. This card is the single reason aggro decks are so popular right now, as control decks are extinct until the card is changed. No fatigue and infinitely bigger creatures. At least the other classes are capped to around 10/10, but not druid. If it weren't for Jade Druid, perhaps Pirate Warrior wouldn't be the single most popular deck on ladder...Jade Idol is without doubt a meta-defining card, but not in a good way.
Why was this card printed.
this card is truly the pinnacle of game design
It's like blizzard is trying to make Hearthstone as unfun as possible in Gadgetzan.
I am still holding on my golden JI in hopes they will change it.
Jade in rogue and shaman is balanced because there is a limit to the size of the jades spawned. Around 10/10 is the max size. Rogue and shaman can go into fatigue and lose.
Jade in druid is unbalanced because there is NO limit to the size of jade. Infinite amount of golems to be spawned. Little to no counterplay and cannot go into fatigue.
Jade idol is the only reason behind the imbalance. Its honestly the biggest design mistake of MSOG
Cards like n'zoth have all but vanished because having a late game win condition isn't relevant vs infinite value.
This card is just disgusting. Just like the 1 mana 3/2 that summons a 1/1 charge, but in a different way. This SINGLE card fucks up ALL the control/fatigue decks, encouraging players even more to stick with aggro.
But hey, it's going to take a few more months for the devs to recognize this and then a few more months from there to actually fix it.
