Its for
face'board control'has stoneclaw totem, 5/5 free charge gg
Meta destroying OTK - get 2 thaurissan ticks with a hand of Spiked Hogrider, Sparring Partner, Hungry Dragon, Inner Rage x 2, Rampage x 2, Slam x 1-2, and Faceless Manipulator. Play Hungry Dragon, play Sparring Partner on the 1-cost minion, play Spiked Hogrider, use double Inner Rage, double Rampage, and Faceless Manipulator on the Hogrider and finally Slam once or twice to kill the taunt minion. Easy 30 dmg gg wp. Get in on it before LoE, BRM, TGT, WoOG, and Kara rotate out in December.
You're kidding, right? It is a theoretical OTK, yes. But
a) You cannot get Thaurissan twice on that hand with 2x slam because that would be 10 cards and Thaurissan has to be one of them when played, making it 11 (not possible), so you would have to play thaurissan AND draw the last combo card that exact turn - or cycle through to it - to be sure you can kill the taunt (could be an argent squire, injured kvaldir... needing two slams).
b) You would have to get through 2 opponent's turns without playing anything (your hand is full), without your opponent just straightout killing you, without them playing more taunts (that you cannot remove because your hand is full) AND without thaurissan dieing. And since all you play in such a deck besides cycle and your combo is removals, your opponent will probably have a few cards left to kill off thaurissan.
If you make that happen, send it to Trolden. It's not impossible but I'm pretty certain the odds to win the lottery are way higher, and a deck with that combo won't ever be viable, let alone "meta destroying".
LOL omg mandolo took me seriously. #baited
Best of the three tbh
Not gonna be used in constructed, but a very nice card for arena. I would definitely pick at least one of these, very solid neutral 5-drop.
If it'll work like southsea deckhand's trigger, it's bad. But if it triggers like old Warsong Commander (R.I.P) it's actually pretty good.
It's a Battlecry, meaning when you play it from your hand, it checks for Taunts on your opponent's board. If there is at least one, The Spiked Hogrider gains Charge, and in the following turns it can be used to attack like any other minion.
Southsea Deckhand checks for Weapons even when it's summoned form somewhere else, so that would be even better (Text would be something like "Has Charge while your opponent has at least one Taunt minion). Same goes for old Warsong commander - it triggered on summon IIRC.
Okay, let's put this guy up against some Taunts in the game.
Thing from Below: Kills it and dies. Though I don't think it's worth drafting the card just as a silver bullet for Thing From Below.
Feral Spirit: Very good against it since it has staying power after killing one.
Houndmaster/Defender of Argus: Depends on what gets taunted, though in most cases I think it would be a standoff.
Twilight Guardian/Druid of the Claw/Avian Watcher: Standoff
Chillmaw: Leaves it at 1 health and dies, so anyone using it for that purpose would have to have follow-up.
Arcanosmith: One of the best, kills the Taunt without dying and makes that Evolve Shaman's board presence not as strong.
If I forgot any good Taunts be sure to remind me.
Taunt is cheat. Let me go face.
If the Taunt is killed, me still go face?
Yes because its a battlecry effect and so the charge will stay unless silenced
Hex synergy
I can see this card being like another leeroy just for aggro decks to get rid of taunt minions or to use your board to clear the taunts then to go face. Hunter will probably be seen using this card.
Out of the 3, this probably is the most playable
If The Black Knight isn't popular on standard, I can't see why this would be.
Cause this card is meant for agro?
is that bacon flying out of his gun? Not sure that is all too effective ammunition.
