I think this card is more useful later game than zombie chow for control decks simply based on how control works. Control decks usually don't care about how much health their opponent has. Heavy control decks will rarely even commit damage to their opponent's face until they've mopped up everything of their opponent. Look at control warrior for example. It's very rare for a control warrior to damage the enemy's face unless there's no other target because the goal is to win over the board condition to the point where nothing your opponent does can take that control back. And when the opponent has no way of getting control back, it doesn't matter how much health they have. In that way, late game Mistress of Mixtures is at least something that heals you when it dies whereas zombie chow is completely irrelevent.
This is either the cheapest control healing minion or one of the best standard aggro minions, only if drawn in the very starting hand XD, either way zombie chow approves it XD
Seeing as how aggro didn't run zombie chow back then because healing 5 to the enemy face meant undoing one of your damage spells or 2-3 minion attacks (Also undid any face damage done by the Chow itself), and seeing as aggro has gotten steadily weaker in terms of how much sheer face damage they can get on board (Leper Gnome nerf and Abusive Sergeant nerf hurt aggro more than some people realize), a card with a deathrattle that heals your opponent will still be unthinkable in aggro. It also dies to 1-drops (the good ones) unlike Zombie Chow which was supremely good because it was a 1 drop that could take on every other one drop in the game and live to trade with something else. Mistress of Mixtures is a good rethinking of the Zombie Chow type card though since it's not quite as threatening a board presence as Zombie Chow was, but still gives control a nice neutral 1 drop which will trade for an enemy minion AND heal you (Cards that do something to influence board condition as well as healing you are crucial for seeing a return of midrange to the metagame)
Way to over-analyze a playful comment bout a fun alright card mates ;D
Nice pic
Lol when you first said mistress I was thinking of Mistress of pain at first
Why is this downvoted? He is right, chow seems slightly better and this card is better to topdeck lategame because you might be low on health.
My favorite card in this expansion by far.
OH BABY YEAH THATS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT
EXCUSE ME?
HELLO AGGRO
almost as good as zombie chow, better in the late game but the missing health means i dies more often when played early
Well, looks like they finally found an elegant way to balance and reprint Zombie Chow! Nice! Still does the necessary job of forcing aggro to trade, priest can PW:S it, yet now you no longer can auchamp it without putting your health in peril too, which is good because that combo was too powerful. It's Chow, but rebalanced to take into account what priest could do with it is all I'm saying.
Insane CARD!
Actually it's better than zombie chow. You can use it on early game and late game. Great card for control and reno decks.
Volazj Auchenie Double Kill
Priest is BACK BOIS!
going to be awesome with weapons and in slow n'zoth decks. maybeCursed Blade finally sees some playing time.
I'm just kidding...I'd be shocked if cursed blade saw a lot of use.
no one will ever play Cursed Blade
Could it be...? Are we approaching a... slow meta? Most of the cards revealed have been for priest, which is the slowest class in the game, so I might be wrong. But if not... oh boy, I might even play Standard again!
