I think people on this website can't recognize satire.
I don't think Patches is OP, its the other pirates that are overtuned a bit (Small-Time Buccaneer comes to mind) If patches is OP and i'm missing something with him, how can you nerf him without making him unplayable? i know some people say remove charge but that would make him unplayable
The thing is that charge isn't the problem, the problem is that he thins your deck out. If you could simply make a deck with 29 cards it would be better than one with 30, and to also get a 1/1 with charge alongside your turn 1 3/2 just seals the package.
The best part is that Blizzard has been trying to make this card since blackrock. Each and every single time they realized it was overpowered and decided against it. I guess they forgot or figured making it legendary would solve those issues (hint: it doesn't)
Best part is Blizzard completely favors mindless aggro and won't ever consider fixing this
Blizzard: We believe charge to be a problematic mechanic that is oftentimes overpowered or broken and we will carefully consider the next time we add it to a minion.
*Makes Patches*
I am tired of seeing this cancerous card. It has been 5 games in a row, 2 rogues, 2 warriors and even shaman.
I still don't get it why a 1/1 with charge is a huge tempo boost. How is this card getting all this hype and giving everyone wood? I don't own him, but not sure it's worth the dust to craft a 1/1.
It gives you two minions (one with charge) on turn 1 or two minions (one with charge) and a weapon on turn 1 all for one mana. It also thins your deck.
You get Patches the Pirate in your opening hand: You win 20% of your games
You get Small-Time Buccaneer in your opening hand: You win 80% of your games.
Well whooptiefuckingdoo, let's play another round of 'flip a coin to let my opening hand decide if i win or lose the game'
It's not true that your opening hand decides if you win or lose with a deck that aims to kill your opponent by turn 4?
How could i have been so foolish. Thank you for showing me the truth with your amazing arguments.
'Patches is meh'... How do you not get the concept of a free minion? Literally free?
Even Dr.Boom does nothing when you don't draw him, and then you still have to pay 7 mana for it. This guy just poofs out of your deck.
I love this card, and that I opened it since I probably wouldn't have crafted it.
In particular I love how it helps make Southsea Captian and Ship's Cannon a little more viable.
The latter only applies to wild, but I only play wild. I like the variety and creativity it enables.
I hope this gets nerfed in the next PATCHES.
Thanks :v
prerelease i would have never expected that card to be that meta-defining :o
For all the tough talk, I've never seen this crappy over-hyped card in play.
This card is great, but people are overrating the capability of this card even exaggerating it to the point that this card might get nerfed in the future.
Don't worry, loves, the cancer is here!
