Why couldnt they come up with better stats??
Dark Peddler is a 2 mana 2/2. The meta will be tempodriven again sooner or later so board is much more important then healing ,and its NOT a Healbot. On average you need a cheap spell that hepls you out and even in a controll match the chances to draw only secrets or low impact spells are too high for this card beeing good.
I imagine it's like that because the other type of spells and control cards the class haves at it's disposal.
The Paladin class it self has a staggering amount of control and healing cards. And now it'll have one more at it's disposal.
Keeping that in mind, I don't see how the stats could be any more fair if not even lower.
Can't ask for a Minion that heals you instantly AND give you a spell to your hand(which could be additional healing spells) AND contests the whole enemy board as well a (i.e as a 5/5 or 6/6+). That's unbalanced. Do you think the stats and cost matters to a control type of deck rather than it's effect in the long haul? No.
Think of the Paladin as a whole and it's potential, then add this card to the mix, before you single out just 1 card in a vacuum.
Matter of fact , most paladin spells are pretty cheap but it has a very interresting potential to say the least.
Sorry to crosspost but I did the maths and posted it here:

Good, more healing for paladin, maybe there will be a bishop card for priest that deals damage.
That's the wild paladin spellcurve. This card is horrible in context xD. You could get Lay on Hands for 16 healing and 3 cards, but you're more likely to get Noble Sacrifice, Divine Strength, and Redemption!
I dunno. No result is BAD like for example Servant of Yogg-Saron could be.... but a lot of them are not what I would pay 6 mana for.
But it's a discover effect so you have fairly low chances of getting three 1 mana spells. 7% if I remember correctly.
Yeah, more healing possibilities for palas. They already have this annoying Forbidden healing, omg.
This card might not be enough to swing the game back into a paladin's favor against faster opponents. draw effects tend to be considered win-more, which is good against control/ midrange. if the meta shifts from tempo to a slower midrange style, this card might see play because it can generate value and sustainability, but is too slow in the current meta because its a 6 mana 4/4 that barely impacts the board.
Battlecry: Give third Anyfin can happen and restore 10 to your hero
Incidentally, it's a 6 mana 4/4.
Seeing this makes me want a bishop one for priest
4/4 minion is a weak 4 mana drop.
Discover mechanic is worth 1 mana.
Combining 3 effects (healing, discover mechanic and the body on a board) into one card is worth about 1,5 mana.
Spells with good value and atleast 2 hp restoration:
Its also worth to consider that Humility and Noble Sacrifice might also provide meaningful healing effects.
Spells like equality and enter the coliseum may have game changing results.
11 out of 28 spells in Standard mode cost 1 mana so their healing effect is good as none giving 0 mana worth of healing.
6 spells have low value but decent healing.
Chance of all spells costing 1 mana or being good value spells with healing = 5%
Chance of discovering only unwanted spells (no healing provided or low value spells) = 21%
Avarage mana worth of good value spells with healing = 1,6 mana
Discover 2 unwanted cards and 1 of good value with healing = 46%
46%*1,6=0,7 -> avarage mana worth of healing gained through discover
4 MANA (FROM BODY) + 1 MANA (DISCOVER) + 1,5 MANA (COMBINED EFFECT) + 0,7 MANA (FROM HEALING) = 7,2 MANA FROM INSTANT EFFECT
More precise calculations are probably required.
4/4 is 3 mana worth of stats
I think the main problem with the card is the fact that there are too many 1 costs spells..
The card is hard to evalueate but the fact that 21% of the time you might get totally screwed might make this card unwanted..
7,2 seems too much for a class card, that is also a late game minion. Class cards have extra power level or a significant mana discount in comparison wih neutral cards. I would give this card 5,6 as much.
It's been a while since I did probability math like this, but this doesn't mean that in every Discover there is only a 1 in 28 chance to get it Anyfin. It's like 3/28 or something.
Hmm Forbidden Healing was also mentioned in some Trump / Kripp vid in relation to this card, but that mostly made me think that it is a zero-cost card so you waste a turn with the Ivory Knight and then another one playing the Forbidden Healing.
Often if you lose so much tempo, even something like Reno Jackson-ing won't really save you because you aren't countering your opponent's play that is causing you to need the healing in the first place.
I say often and this is just my idea about it, I may very well be wrong. At other times you might just be at a Mexican standoff with enough opportunity to 'stock up'.
