Cosmic Anomaly
I love this card. Wild freeze mage player
Fuck this card. It's so deceptively powerful.

I take your win streak!
This card is way better than people give it credit for. I think the best way to look at this card is to compare it to a traditional burn spell you would run, since that is what it essentially is replacing in your decklist.
In Freeze Mage we have Fireball. 4 mana, 6 damage. So to warrant running ourEvolved Kobold it has to be just as good, if not better than a Fireball. With spellpower +2 this means you have to cast 3 spells to be on par with a Fireball, and anything more than that is just gravy. But because he requires being played alongside other cheap spells it's more of a 10 mana play in the lategame. This means the perfect candidate for removal, if you want to fit this in your deck, is a big expensive lategame burn spell: Pyroblast. Now what the Kobold lacks in explosive finishing power of a 10 mana 10 damage spell he makes up for in flexibility. The ease in which he combos with your other burn spells such as Frostbolt + Ice Lance and his added synergies with boosting your board clears such as Flamestrike and Blizzard makes him less of the dead draw that Pyroblast is.
If you get the dream Emperor Thaurissan discount on the Kobold, both Fireballs, a Frostbolt and both Ice Lances you get a 10 mana 33 damage burst combo that even Control Warriors can't dodge and the Evolved Kobold is contributing a whopping 10 damage!
In conclusion, I think this card is definitely worth running in a Freeze Mage deck as a one of because of it's potential to augment your burst damage and make it harder for your opponent to play around lethal.
Used to think this card was terrible. It's good the same way that Bloodmage Thalnos is; spell damage combo. The difference is that there's no draw, but he's bigger, allowing for deadly combos.
Currently running him with 2x Sinister Strike and 2x Eviscerate for 22 burst damage.
This minion is a nightmare in a freeze mage deck. Hopefully, Emperor Thaurissan rotates out next year so that we don't get otked by a freeze mage while he only drew half of his deck...
If only this costed 3...
Then I could Evolve my Kobold Geomancer into this.
Same as playing 2 Kobold Geomancer in terms of mana and spell damage, which is decent since it's only one card, but probably not good enough outside of a weird burst mage. Might have potential someday.
3 mana this guy would be awesome, 4 mana ... nah.
This is the worst card in the entire WOG expansion.
You clearly haven't met the Boogeymonster.
Freeze mage would like to say hello
This card is actually sick in particularly Burst Mage. Replacement for Kobold Geomancer for sure, because it's like double geomancer, where you have 2 extra card slots and don't need an extra card to draw. 2 evolved kobolds on board is like cheaper malygos, that can do a crazy amounts of damage with apprentice, emperor and other stuff.
With this card an OTK Burst Mage gonna be a Tier 1 in Standard. Mark my words.
As soon as people try it, yeah, they'll realize that this makes the deck dirtier and more consistent. I made a spellpower mage and druid list.
A card with different stats isn't better or worse straight out, in some situations Ogre Magi would be better and in some situations this card will be better, its all about the situation you were in.
Put yourself in a situation where its turn 10 you have in hand Fireball and Ogre Magi in hand and your opponent is on 9 even with a ping from the Mage hero power you would be one off lethal, in this case the Evolved Kobold would be infinity better.
As a rogue, if you want some board clear that does more than tickles on the enemy patrons, you may want to use this + Fan of Knives to deal 3 damage + card draw for 7 mana. Ineficient, but better than the nerfed Blade Flurry-suck ass combo.
How about this + Backstab + Preparation + Fan of Knives?
Gets rid of Sunkeeper Tarim and all of his friends!
I think spell mages could really like this card. Especially with effigy. Buffing all their spells by 2 is huge. Only spell decks will ever use this card though.
