With Savage Roar + Force of Nature disappearing one would think Blizz would make cards that would successfully push new archetypes for druids... instead we get this (not even worth for some sort of Token Druid).
the +2,+2 is garbage so lets compare the wisps with Onyxia. If you wait 2 turns, one of your wisps gets +7,+7 and the dragon tag - clearly better than this card alone. Onyxia don't see terribly much play to begin with so this is gonna be a heaping pile of dog crap unless zoo druid becomes a thing.
Guess they didn't fire the guy who named Dark Wispers...
This card shows that blizzard didn't introduct STANDARD to SELL REPRINTS. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 expensive for the shitty +2/+2 effect and the 7 wisps
It will fail 95% of the time, but if I can manage to get a combo with Knife Juggler ...
Still fail, as you get only 6 wisps, not 7
Unless your knife juggler kills a Tentacle of N'Zoth, freeing some space on your board for more wisps! True Ultimate Value!
Option one: fill your board with 1/1 wisps. Assuming druid has no cards that interact with wisps, it's like playing Onyxia, only it costs 2 less mana and you get a 1/1 instead of the 8/8 dragon. Also, If you have 2 or more minions on board is like Stand Against Darkness, but 2 mana more expensive.
Option two: everything gets +2/+2. It's like Everyfin is Awesome, but you don't get the discount with murlocs. It is also one of the effects of Cenarius, but you get a 5/8 for 2 more mana (and the 2 2/2 taunt if you have no board)
Pretty bad.
But, filling your board with 1/1 it's ok.
In constructed, unless Druid gets something that buffs wisps, it's going to be bad.
Getting way too much hate IMO. Let's not forget that token druid is a thing; it probably won't have a place in any other druid deck, but it will be very good there.
Why would you ever play this over Power of the Wild? Usually by turn 7 the game is pretty much decided anyway (in token druid).
If it cost 8 and gave your minions +3/+3 then it might be ok. But as it stands you would never pay 5 extra mana for an additional +1/+1.
And the wisps are bad for the same reason Stand Against Darkness is, it's a big investment that can be punished so easily.
this should have been 5 or 6 mana. The reason every druid runs combo is because it is the only way to make a good deck. Now without the combo druid will be the new shaman.
The real reason Druid runs combo is actually "because why not?". They had no reason to run or play any differently since the combo was very effective at killing your opponent. Without the combo Druids can actually be creative for once, as long as Blizzard gives them the tools.
-Yogg-Saron is released.
-Next day a joke card is released by punning Wisps and Whispers.
-"Hearthstone has completely run out of ideas."
By ideas I think he means ''good ideas''.
By ideas I think he means ''good ideas''.
A card that will interact with wisps? Unlikely.
Blizz dev: "Hey you know that Dark Whispers card that nobody plays? Lets make it again, but this time bigger!"
except let's take out the part that sees some minor use on occasion and replace it with something that requires they already be winning in order for it to pay out or at least have board control.
