Let me break it down further.
5/4 Taunt 4 mana, 2/4 2.5mana (not counting aura because it's included in others), 5/2 Charge 4.5 mana at least (Leeroy 6/2 for 5 but summon 2 1/1 for opponent, and Leroy is legendary), so you get 11 mana worth at least, not counting other minions on board.
But instead of drawing 3 companion cards, which you need 3 turns. With this you only have to draw 1 card. Each card draw is 2 mana, so you get 15 mana worth. This is why you survived hunters down to last one or two cards and you feel good about winning then BOOM he actually got equivalent of 6 cards, and that's why people think this card ruins the game experience.
Can't believe Blizzard not reacting to this.
This card ruins this game and gaming experience.
What a joke, if you draw two of this by turn 10 you win 85%.
Just the same like warriors always have their Fiery War Axe on turn 1-3...
Unbelievably broken in it's current state and will need a nerf. I would suggest a 1 or 2 mana nerf to make it cost 9 or 10 but knowing blizz they'll probably make it something like 7 mana summon 2 random animal companions :)
Please nerf it
Replacement for this card?
I want to play midrange hunter but cant because I'm missing two cotw.
So would sylvanas and something else work?
No replacement for Dr.8 my man.
You cannot replace this card. It's just too broken. You have to run 2 in all hunter decks.
what about ragnaros
If you don't have enough dust to craft this card then yeah, rag is a very strong legendary; one of the best in fact.
Any class will tell you, deal with rag is way easier than deal with this card. Plus you only have to deal with Rag once. So this card is essential, you either have it or don't play hunter.
OP
so people say why hunter doesn't deserve a win condition? lets see some win conditions in the game.
yogg saron - a win condition but you need play a lot of spells.
n zoth - a win condition but you need your deathrattle minions die first.
anyfin - a win condition but you need your murlocs to die.
worgen - a win condition but you need to get your combo pieces first.
freeze mage - you need to stall the game long enough and survive.
so every win condition requires something to happen but this card doesn't. you just have to reach 8 mana and you take over the board back (unless you are really behind).
why animal companion is a 3 cost Spell ?
companions are 4 cost minions but you can summon one of them by 3 mana cuz its a random drop and you dont know which one will be summoned.
but in COTW we have different condition. you know that you can get all of them so it is not random drop anymore. we have three 4cost minions with just 8 mana! in addition you have a 5/2 charge minion not a 4/2. this card worth more than 4 mana.
The companions worth 3,5 not 4 because Huffer is between Wolfrider and Kor'kron Elite, Ok, Leokk is actually 4 mana, he's a Raid Leader with +2 health( 1 mana ) and Misha is between Ironfur Grizzly and Evil Heckler. But it still op
dont forget : each companion has beast tag.
This is like saying a card that summons 3 Knife Jugglers would be fairly costed at 6. The card economy and tempo value of a 3-in-1 add value, not to mention that the 3-cost Animal Companion is already giving you 4.333 value for 3. You're getting a 13-value card (plus tempo and economy value) for 8 mana with Call of the Wild. Oh sorry, it's 9 now.

The fact that Blizzard thought this nerf would reduce how often this card is played is pretty amusing. CotW would still be auto-include at 10.
