Assuming there's only 1 card that you want. How often is it the case that what you're wanting to get rid of is a 6 health minion?
Fireball, Polymorph, and Flame Lance can all cover this and be played in the same turn in end game. You also could get Ice Lance or Frost Bolt and the new Shatter spell which can kill anything that can be targeted. Mirror Image stalls the game, Vaporize could right out kill it, Polymorph: Boar gets rid of abilities and lets you ping twice to get rid of it, Forbidden Flame kills 5 health or wait a turn and you can kill it right out.
It's pretty rare in Mage that you need one exact answer out of the tome to get an answer. Usually your odds are going to be a lot higher at getting something to take care of your problems when you need one in ~5 cards for a single answer (Polymorph, Flame Lance, Fireball, Forbidden Flame, Vaporize) you're looking at around 15.625% chance per card and 39.993% chance that you're going to get something that can immediately answer a 5 health threat, and that's assuming you're only using 5 mana to answer it and your answer comes from only one of the three cards that you're getting, leaving you with 2 more spells in hand for other situations.
This is an AMAZING control card, but it is expensive. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this replace Duplicate in a lot of control mage decks.
This card is cool, but I don't think it will be very used in tempo, just because it does not provide any board presence at all. Sure, its a great fountain of resources, but Ethereal Conjurer gives you one spell, and an aggressive body as well (randomness aside, of course)
It's phenomenal in tempo if you start to run out of cards, or you need more spells to activate flamewaker. Single-handedly gave me the win in so many matches.
Great Arena card and will probably see play in constructed just because people love unstable portal so much.

I can't believe I will say this but...compared to the 4 latest announced cards, this one is probably the best. Mage spells are generally good, so I prefer this card over 5 mana spell that draws me 3 cards (unless looking for a minion). But I've been wondering in which kind of mage deck would this even fit. It doesn't seem to be all that good in Freeze Mage, unless they decide to cut some card draw cards. I mean usually they have already at least 8 cards in hand at turn 5 or higher. Actually scratch that, it might be great in Freeze Mage. In Tempo Mage also seems great, if used at right time. Even in Reno Mage it seems like a decent card. Then again, it does also depend what other spells Blizz gives to mage. Fun thing is tho, you can get Cabalists Tome from Cabalists Tome. Mmm I sense Trolden moment with that.

I think Conjurer is still better, because this is RNG
That doesn't make sense. Conjurer offers you 1 of 3 random cards to choose from. Cabalist's Tome just gives you all 3 of them.
and then it gives you spell bender, frost nova and arcane explosion and you concede because it literally screwed your whole game. This card is plain terrible, I wouldn't play it even if someone payed me. Conjurer at least lets you do some damage control and choose the lesser evil and still get a 6/3 on the board. It's infinitely better and even that's not played at all.
You could as well play arcane intellect for 2 less mana, draw only two cards but at least you know you can actually use them.
Your argument is super flawed. You say that this card will just give you spell bender, frost nova and arcane explosion and you concede. Conjurer can give you those exact 3 cards as the choice yet you still only get 1. Do you still concede? At least you get all 3 with this one. Also having more spells is better than having a 3 health minion on board. Especially if your deck is built around spells.

This card will definitely win games. Ethereal Conjurer has given me exactly what I needed on turn 10. I'm hoping this card will do the same.
Anyone playing against Kripp gets exactly what they need when they need it.
This card is huge value.
Lets compare it to Nourish . This loses the abillity to ramp, but instead it generates cards instead of drawing them. This is almost always better than drawing (Generating Random cards is worse than drawing, but generating specific cards is often better, depending on what specific cards you can generate.) because mage spells are pretty much good across the board. Sure, there are a few whiffs (namely stuff like Flame Lance , Mirror Image. and other overly situational spells.), but take this into consideration : If you run this, you want to run it in a deck that gains benefit from casting spells in general, so any spell you get is good enough to trigger your Flamewaker or your Mana Wyrm. Will this fit into the current tempo shells? No. Too slow. Five mana is too much for a card with no unconditional instant impact. This is a "Do-nothing" for a turn, a big tempo no-no. However control decks, especially Reno Jackson variants that especially benefit from generating cards instead of drawing them.
Furthermore, this card has ONE huge advantage that people have been making fun of but should not be ignored at all. Recursion. Three mage spells gives you a pretty nice chance to recure it and get a new one. Any card that can infinitely value is bonkers. And this card can easily result in 5 cards generated from ONE card. That's HUGE! Any deck that values the long-term plan is going to be all over this card. When Sneed's Old Shredder deathrattles itself out, people go CRAZY. That's because it's -huge- value to have a card that can generate.... itself again AND has an imapct besides that, in this case, 2 more spells.
Overall, I think this will see lots of play.
