People see the stats as bad but it gives you alot power if both players are at fatigue.
After watching a lot of streamers try their best to use this card, it just doesn't seem to find a home.
Everyone says it will be great for control and late game, but by late game you usually want to be playing stuff like grom. Late game this card basically equals a a missed play. And for 4 damage over 2 turns for 5 cost.
On top of that, a lot of people are now playing 2/3 cards instead of 3/2 cards like last season. If 3/2 was still the meta, I think this would be great, but it can't clear much alone, so it ends up being a 2.5 mana ping. And since warrior cards are so efficient in general, this is the opposite.
If it cames from Malkorok might be good at fatigue war. It could be good if it's Deathrattle : Shuffle this card into your deck but like this, it's terrible. Don't forget you have only 30 slot for a deck, you can not play this card for all game. Only came through Malkorok might be good in fatigue war.
This card is PERFECT for fatigue warriors, especially with the incoming pirates who can buff it. At least the opponent cant silence weapons... And imagine if you get this off Malkorok!
I like how the golden version compliments this card, adding nothing to nothing.
One day, someone will get lucky and pull this off. And that day, I'll be sitting here, watching the trolden clip. And then I'll remember this moment, and laugh my ass off.
Wow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq0ZYr6cypo someone did it
holy....... I think i'll craft this card now.
Holy crap
I think people as always doesn't see the potential of certain cards.
Yep, i agree that in vacuum this card is completely garbage. But Tentacles for Arms is a combo (kind of) card which require specific deck for it! Most of all for some midrange/pirate and weapon-oriented warrior.
It is infinite 2/2 weapon for 5 mana. What we can put in the deck to make it better?
For example:
Spiteful Smith could make it 4/2, easy
Bloodsail Cultist + 1/1 with pirate on board (most of them fit in warrior)
Blackwater Pirate infinite 2/2 for 3 mana? Yes, please!
Orgrimmar Aspirant +1 attack... it's simple as that
Captain Greenskin Does someone remember this guy? He is still here.
Upgrade! and + 1/1
Potentially 11 cards to make it playable. And of course, their is another weapons to make synergy stronger. Say Hi to Malkorok, Arathi Weaponsmith, Fiery War Axe, Arcanite Reaper and Gorehowl.
The whole deck can be build around weapons, not just Tentacles for Arms, but in that case it becomes much stronger than you can imagine.
The problem is that in the case you are building a deck around a specific weapon and weapon buffs, you'd want a card with more than 2 durability, so you didn't end up wasting all your mana paying for it constantly.
Wait, if it actually returns with the buffs intact, then this card is actually really good.
So Warrior is losing 1 (usable) weapons, and gaining 0. Strange times. And in the last 2 expansions (TGT and LE), he also gained 0 (usable) weapons.
Also, Defender of Kings seems like such a useless card, since it directly *tries* to compete with Fiery Winaxe. Seems like warrior is left with just Arcanite Reaver, which will finally be a good enough card and Fiery Winaxe. I'm glad to see such an oppressive card like Death's Bite be removed. But, wtf... Armor combos with weapons. But maybe Arcanite Reaver will be a commonly seen card in constructed and maybe that's not a bad thing.
edit, prediction: Defender of Kings may be used as a third Fiery Winaxe, for consistency reasons. Arcanite Reaver has nowhere to go but up, and will be used in CW and mid-range decks. I doubt Weapon Smith will see play.
I throw up in my mouth a little bit everytime I see this card.
And you have to pay 5 mana again when it comes back to your hand, it can't get any worst.
After playing control warrior for a lot of games, I usually just armor up after turn 8 +++ , waiting for my opponent that warrants a response. that extra mana could be made more productive by equipping a weapon (e.g. tentacles for arms) and hitting something. This card is similar to shadow form 1, where priest have infinite 2 dmg every turn. However the drawback is that, priest loses their healing. For control warrior, tentacles for arms allows the warrior to still gain 2 or 4 armor every turn, while still having a shadow form level 1
