This card is worse then ball of spiders and no one plays that
um, combo it with the buff, for 10 mana you have 6 minions, 5 of which is 3/3 and 1 2/5, its not easy to wipe that especially if your board wipes have been baited. This card wont see 2 copies played but I can see 1 working out, its decent, not overpowered.
Quartermaster is also leaving standard, so outside of wild it will not happen.
It can still combo with Warhorse Trainer, as well as any other token synergy cards in this set.
So right now it is a strictly decent card with what we know now.
That is only possible in wild format and chances of enough 1/1 making it to turn 6 to make it worth while is highly unlikely, and if this is your best play on turn 10 in wild you are either winning all ready or you are just going to loose.
Well, this card is worse then Muster for Battle but slightly better then the Muster-Hero Power-Quartermaster play when it comes to Quartermaster (As this gives 5 3/3's instead of 4 3/3, although the latter does also give a 1/4 weapon). Of course, it matters not in Standard unless we get another Quartermaster...
Enemy Druid swipes for face the following turn. GG.
Compared to Muster this is absolute TRASH
Balancing Arena Paladin EleGiggle
One thing to keep in mind; it's easy to have room on your board for 3 Recruits. It's not nearly as easy to have room for 5 while you're ahead in a Midrange deck.
My token deck runs two quartermasters, but it wins pretty easily without it. I can overwhelm people with the sheer amount of tokens and there are plenty of other buff cards. The real problem isn't going to be the loss of Quartermaster, but the loss of Shieldbot, whatever the 2/2 divine shield is. Forget it's name. This will still sync well with some other cards, even the neglected Warhorse Trainer.
I'm glad that shieldbot is gone, it was overpowered for the cost.
ditto, was so dominant early game.
This card will be decent. It can be absolutely fantastic or totally useless depending on when you play it. And timing can be tough with a 5 mana card.
Well, its better because Warhorse Trainer is still a card and it costs 1 mana less. On top of that it is still possible to have new Paladin token synergy cards in this set.
This card is decent, almost good but not amazing or great
Quartermaster value. But since he leaves Standard mode I guess we will get a card similar to him.
Meh card. bad art.
The only synergy we currently have is with Competitive Spirit, which best case leaves up 10/10 stats for 6 mana. It seems the power level really is dropping a lot for standard, maybe we'll get token synergy for Paladin though.
very weak valued card~ I hope they put in 1/3 weapon to come with it~ for extra flavor~
This might be an attempt to keep midrange paladin with Quartermaster as a playable deck in standard, since Quartermaster itself as a GvG card is going to Wild. But in order for that to happen, they probably need to make some extra pally cards. I am wondering if they are among the ones that are not revealed yet. Midrange pally with Quartermaster is an old deck that is quite balanced, one that takes work and skill to play correctly, and one that I never really minded - perhaps even respected - playing against, unlike the rightly hated secret one.
It sure seems that Blizzard is trying to move away from powerful stand alone cards. Instead they are giving us tools that we can use to make powerful decks with powerful combos. My guess is there will be new recruit synergy coming that might make this card a good tool in some decks.
