Card Sounds
I'd say so, if you have cards like Preparation it can quickly become such a huge minion and without hard removal it can quickly take down who ever is on the receiving end.
When your opponent sees you playing that.
yea pretty sure this happened when i played a rogue mirror match in arena. i got my first edwin through discover. opponent saps it, still fine, i play it again. i burgle and get a second edwin. by turn 6 there's 2 edwins on the board.
Woooo! First golden Legendary!
Honestly I wasn't even a big fan because I never played Rogue, but now I'm starting to play Rogue heaps 'cause of this card and I love it.
Such a strong card!
I made 100 coins and bought a pack and I just packed him :D
They need to completly rework rogue class always feel like I am behind when playing against Mech Mage, Dragon Priest or Paladin.. Pirates need better synergy
LAPTOPS, ALL OF YOU!
No dont dust him! Edwin is one of the best class legendaries and fits really well in oil rogue. Just keep him and start crafting an oil rogue deck. U need 2 preparations, 2 si:7 agents, 2 tinker's oil, 2 eviscerates, 2 blade flutries, 2 azure drakes, 2 violet teachers or 2 piloted shreddwers (which are cheaper and rqually effective and 4 mana too) , bloodmage thalnos, southsea deckhand, loatheb, 2 earthen ring farseers and edwin vancleef. the rest of the carda are free from the basic colelction. 2 backstab, 2 deadly poison, 2 saps, 2 fan of knives and 2 sprints. The most expensive ones are the 2 preparations that are 800 dust both and bloddmage thalnos that is 1600 dust. In total it would be 3440 dust and edwin vancleef that is 1600 but u already have him and maybe u already have some of the other cards which is less dust to craft the deck. If you like the class u will have a lot of fun with this deck, its very complex to master but very rewarding and strong on the ladder.
Yeah thalnos is pretty expensive and the kobold does the job pretty good. If you face a lot of control decks u can play a loot hoarder instead since in the control matchup card cycle is more important. In the aggro matchup the spell damage boost in more important and the kobold is good.
Got a golden one. Looks so awesome but i dont know how to use him good either..
I've opened him 3 times and I have the same problem. I want to use him but I either can't fit him in a deck, or make good use of him when I do.
4/4 VC on turn 2 (Coin + VC) is good against aggro decks (and against priest) and pretty good play (or backstab + coin into him is 6/6 at turn 2)...against non aggro opponents you usually want 6/6 to dodge BGH. You play him with cheap spells such as backstab, deadly poison, prep etc...
Just don't play around to pump him up as much as possible (sometimes it happens), examples above are fair ones (3 mana for 6/6 is an amazing) look it that way.
Here in the GvG Era, Mr. VanCleef was a lucky turn 1 6/6 for me with The Coin and Unstable Portal. "Sorry."
My favorite golden card!
A bit over dramatic don't you think, the higher decks usually contain a silence yes, but your forgetting the best part, they justg silenced a 3 drop over some of your bigger more scary later game cards.
The thing is that modern oil rogues (which is the only viable archetype at high level play) don't play any other silence targets (except oil-buffed minions to an extent), so it is hard to justify an argument "well at least something else won't get silenced". I would argue silencing van cleef hurts a lot.
In most Oil rogues you commonly have Violet Teacher for board presence, Bloodmage Thalnos for spell power and card draw Azure Drake for Spell power, Emperor Thaurissan + the fact that not all rogue players are playing oil rogue (granted currently it is the best style for the meta but its not the only rogue)
Mech rogues can have Iron Sensei Piloted Shredder etc
Control Rogues have card like Trade Prince Gallywix Bloodmage Thalnos etc
Just saying in 90ish% of cases I'm not saying a silenced Edwin VanCleef doesn't hurt but honestly its better then some of the above cards hurt more when silenced.
My favorite card in HS and the best golden effect!
