I don't have source, but someone confirmed on reddit that while the artifacts appear in the same place when you play Rafaam, the other player sees a random one go into hand. Pretty lucky to see it match up 3 times in a row, especially if you managed to play around it.
Actually I lost all 3 times lol.
I played him a few times in a improvised Control Priest and I feel the 3/3 mummies are the most useful artifact half of the time. The 10/10 buff is powerful but hard to find the right moment to use it.
I also read that this has been proven to be false.
Played him twice last night. He won me both games. Good card in my book.
awesome flavor text.
Does anybody know of a card that tops this?
Yes check out stable masters flavour text, I though it was quite funny :D
And his name is....
Won me a few games already, really good card.
If he becomes popular people might hold onto Loatheb because of him. Keyword is If.
Outside of say rank 15, people know the other net decks wholly. Loatheb can sit in hand and wait.
i am really looking forward to seeing this card finally in action today ... few cards had such divided reviews to date ... I actually think this might be a thing in at least control warrior: It is 19 mana over two turns, sure but in a drawn out game you either have first a removal and second a board clear or you just die ... Sounds good to me
the question is what do u swap for it? Ysera? -no... removals? -unlikely... mid game stuff?- not sure... If rafaam goes in, something goes out... and there's so many good cards that I don't want to board out...
I honestly think it might be better that Ysera in non-dragon decks... so this would be the prime candidate ...
IMO Ysera is still stronger. In late game you're looking for stabilization and Ysera helps in that much better. Doesn't die to BGH, provides u with tools EVERY turn and has 12 health. Rafamm provides u with only 1 card, that costs 10 mana. Dies to BGH, has only 8 health.
Imo Ysera is the ultimate finisher. The only thing about rafaam that is good - is that u get to pick a specific tool. But only 1 tool.
There is one difference for me: If you remove Ysera, there is no guarantee that the card Ysera gave you even has an impact on the further game - a laughing sister, dream or even Nightmare can be just garbage... Rafaam gives you the guarantee that even after an immediate removal there is another thread that can flat out win the game! this might be enough to be better than Ysera: The Zombie Army is as game breaking as 3 Ysera cards on average ... additionally, rafaam is way more "targeted" and therefore somewhat "faster" than Ysera, even if it is just the highly unlikely (you made it till 10 already ...) survival you are looking for, the timepiece thing is more or less a guaranteed clear against aggro without taking 5 to the face (if you got Ysera awakens in the first place ...)
9 mana for these stats and give you a not so powerful artifact that will consume all of your precious mana?
Very slow, but who knows? Maybe we will see him on some Control decks.
It could be really good as a late game fuel card as it only takes one slot but gives you two turns more of fuel.
Dreaming about playing a 10 mana artifact with a Summoning Stone on board...
I like the animation but I don't think anyone will run that card, it's way too slow and not valuable.
