Mana Wyrm
Card Text
Whenever you cast a spell, gain +1 Attack.
Flavor Text
These wyrms feed on arcane energies, and while they are generally considered a nuisance rather than a real threat, you really shouldn't leave them alone with a bucket of mana.
Card Sounds
Not so fast! The odds of this happening for 20 times in a row might be higher than what you think.
Assume that the coin flip is fair and assume all mages have two mana wryms in their deck:
If the mage is going first (50%), the chances of not getting any wryms is (28 * 27 * 26) / (30 * 29 * 28), so the mage sunk all three cards and get three more, and the chances of not getting any wryms again is (25 * 24 * 23) / (27 * 26 * 25). Then if the mage still not getting the wrym, she can still topdeck it but it doesn't happen (25 / 27).
It turns out that the chance of this happening is 58.74%, so we can infer that the chance of the mage going first (50%) not having a wyrm in the opening hand is 41.25%, that means it contributes 20.625% to the total.
Now if we calculate the chance of no wyrm at all for the mage going second by the same method: (28*27*26*25)/(30*29*28*27) * (24*23*22*21)/(26*25*24*23) * (24/26), we get 49.02% of no wryms at all, or 50.98% of having it, which contributes 25.49% to the total.
Therefore, the chance of having a wrym in opening hand is 46.12%, If you find (0.4612)^20 the odds is about 1 in 5,282,000.
Still, you are 7 times more likely to killed by lightning than 20 opening hand mana wryms.
... All hail the genius
I love this card so much! I just won a game sing handily with the use of this card and two other damage spells! This golden animation is really sweet as well!
